I am an experimental cook too. I would be rubbish on Master Chef because I prioritise nutrition and avoidance of waste above other considerations. TV chefs horrify me with he unecessary (IMO) fats and such like they add and their wastage.

Also I rartely use recipies for meal type dishes. The closest I get to a recipe is to read one through, then close the book or web page and them make it up along the lines of what I read. More often though I just chcuk stuff in with gay abandon and hope for the best,. I don't have many disasters.

Have never seen that, it looks lovely.
Twass, we get through many pairs of wellies a year here, we wear them so much!
An thanks, 11 now, 2 more to go, but one is late June.
You have all been busy today, I was charging round town seeing to paperwork, bank, chemist etc. Then Lidl big shop, so here are blueberry muffins.
Have a poor young chaffinch constantly fluttering against my kitchen windows; mr tk has said it is looking to nest/find a mate; maybe it has worked out I have the food!
Now dinner, before ep 5 of Vikings ....

I love Amelie! One of my all time fave films

I don't much like the look of what they do and serve on programmes like Masterchef. Titchy little bits of this and that, all fancified......however I do like cookery programmes and often remember them [more or less] and do my own version. I remember catching an American show once with a lady cooking her husband's favourite dinner, which was a flat escalope of chicken with lemon in breadcrumbs. It had a sauce [which I didn't make] and I made my own breadcrumbs from sourdough bread rather than the packet ones she used but it was delicious. Must make it again one day....if I can remember what I did! I think the lemon zest was grated into the breadcrumbs along with parmesan cheese, parsley and salt and pepper and the chicken was beaten into thin slices which were put first into flour, then beaten egg, then pressed into the lemony cheesy crumbs. Then they were fried til brown and crisp *drools* She served them with mash and greens.

All that about watching Amelie was just a smokescreen so we wouldn't find out what she was really getting up to!!!

Eeeek! Is that how you got your catsuit?
On another note, I'm surprised how sad I feel at the death of David Gest. He always seemed like a kind man.

THe plastic surgery was a little weird, but there was a nice guy behind it all. What a shame, he wasn't old at all. I wonder what happened

I don't know why Twass but I think he had something like cancer. I thought it while he was in the house. This isn't what he did have just what I thought back in January. It was the sort of non specific malaise that made me think that. I am sad too

Right folks save yourselves. There is a thread in GD which is so meta it is fast becoming the Russian doll of threads. Its doing my head in.

Thats the one. It could have been such an interesting debate. Instead it has become an ironic paraody of itself.

i can't tell you how cross i am at being singled out in this manner....

i liked his weird sense of humour, sad for him to go at a comparatively young age

Well that was a wasted post. They won't know if you are being naughty or not unless you tell them what the fashionable response to have is.
