We also had to eat what we were given. I was round at a friend's house at the time her son was 2 less than 2 and she's asking him what he wants
asking a two year old "do you want pasta? do you want houmous? he's 2 ffs!!!I had a phobia of egg white as a child, like you the hours i've spent sitting at the table trying to gag down the white of a boiled egg....of course i like it now not as much as as the yolk but i can eat it without puking ![]() oh yes seen and not heard. definitely. endless hours of sitting quietly because it was rude to go and play in my room when there were guests!!! A friend came to visit me when i was ill with her two sons and they were ghastly they were running round breaking stuff, like a cliche of badly behaved kids. I don't know what to say if she wants to bring them again because i don't want them in my house. I can't afford to replace the amount of stuff they break as she laughs indulgently. Quote:
It's a sorry state of affairs when you can't trust kids not to break things. I put a lot of stuff away before my granddaughters visit, although they'd be told off if they broke anything....then given a treat five minutes later
![]() I shall be trekking forth to the station shortly, and thence to London town to see a show with various other reprobates like myself Back tomorrow night after a night at my pal's house in the Room of Fabulousness. It is a tiny back bedroom and her only spare room, crammed with all manner of stuff, fairy lights, festival hats, things we've found on our travels, artwork, rock memorabilia....Sindy dolls ....I love staying there ![]() |

Can't bear the fashion of giving small children choices. There were 6 of us and if you didn't eat you went hungry (our parents were wonderful, very loving, but stretched. We didn't have napkins.
I am so jealous! ![]() did you have snow today? |

No, but snow on surrounding hills has never really gone. Very cold wind tonight, we're dying to let cows and calves out but it's too risky.
Going to try something http://www.dropbox.com/s/1ara33uvy2c...30.22.jpg?dl=0

You tried it before I did!! How are you so quick?? It's a fairly pathetic pic of the fjord taken on a murky grey day in January; I can't get it to work. Will try again.

It was great! I got a bit lost in Waterloo Station, but found my friends in the end and we then went off to find The Vaults, which is an old underground train sort of shed thing turned into a theatre and saw All or Nothing, the story of the Small Faces. It was absolutely brilliant. No allocated seating so we piled in and elbowed ourselves into decent seats. I was so thirsty in the interval I necked a G&T in record timing even for me

It was awesome. The Jungle was magnificent, the boy cast as Mowgli was perfect, and the real animals so convincing and majestic. I would recommend it to anyone

It's weird when they do remakes of such classic films - i saw the wee boy on something the other day and seemed really sweet! there's lots of famous voices in the cast aren't there? I love the idea of Bill Murray as Baloo
![]() ![]() ![]() As we left my friend and I were gobsmacked at the mess left behind, popcorn everywhere, food cartons strewn all over the floor, drink bottles ad cups everywhere Why don't cinemas provide bins?

Surely all they'd need was an announcement onscreen that there would be bins by the exit and please to put all rubbish in them on your way out. Most folks would tidy up after themselves, wouldn't they?

That sounds just perfect twass. Every six weeks or so I get a trip to Aldi, and enjoy it as if it was Harrods or some such.
I saw some good reviews for Jungle Book, glad it lived up. I used to love Aldi when I lived in North London, and would go every few weeks or so. So offered the chance for a browse in my pal's nearest one which was close to the cinema......it was fab! Quote:
the way that stuff tastes i expect they hoover it up and resell it the next day
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You can make it at home for PENCE!!!! Not the microwave sort....the sort in an old saucepan with a bit of lard and a spoonful of corn!!
