It's still sunny and glorious up here in the north west. Maybe you have one of those cartoon clouds following you around.

I've just wandered down to the Pier Head in Liverpool to have a gander at the tall ships. It's the river festival this weekend.

It's absolutely glorious down there. The sun is pounding down, all the beer tents and foos stalls are set up against a backdrop of immense beauty. It truly is an iconic waterfront and on days like today it lifts the spirits.

They sell foo foos. You can buy anything down there.

I only popped down there in my dinner hour and I didn't want to go back to work afterwards. I was jealous of all the tourists sat lounging in the sun, sipping their alcoholic beverages.

Evening all. Never heard them twass, my grandma always called her makeup tutty (a touch of powder, a smidge of lipstick and on special occasions a swipe of bourgeois rouge, a tiny cardboard round pot). I was 22 when she died, and she had the same pot.

Sorry late catching up;. another glorious hot day here, although the sun didn't appear until midday. Still a chilly north wind though. It seems to be a west/east divide. As we are so far west until we fall into the Atlantic , we are getting the benefit.

Oh we are surrounded by the sea but not in sight of it. And when a beautiful summer day comes, and we make room to go to the beach, covered in cloud .

i like the isolated empty beaches, my favourite one is a bit of trek but it's at Bamburgh it has sand dunes and rock pools and an enormous castle it's always blowing a gale there though!
