It is bright sun here now although there have been many showers and even some thunder here today. I've done lots of gardening!

That's a fabulous picture!

You can't be buying fully ripe watermelons....they should be sweet and juicy and full of flavour. Underripe ones have far less health benefits. You need ones full of black seeds....those are the ripe ones!

St John's wort or Loosestrife I expect. Since living here I have seen so many more wild plants than I ever did in North London despite living in the green belt bit.

Actually might be Celandine with those four petals

I discovered a frond of cow parsley coming up in the garden...well chuffed! I nearly chopped it with my shears but then realised what it was. The seeds must have blown in from the hedgerow

Fabulous, I love old walls, all manner of lichens and other plants grow out of them!

This is The Wall when Winter has been and gone

there's all sorts growing out the wall the big clumpf campanulas and ferns all self seeded!
The tiny white dots along the top is ivy leaved toadflax, there's also foxgloves, broad leafed willowherb, there were primroses earlier in the spring and just out of shot there is an enormous wall flower.... i think on the right of the ferns is a small birch tree!!!

That's a fabulous wall! So much to look at I'm sure like me you spend hours in your garden just absorbing it all.

Speaking of absorbing did you see that leech swallowing a toadlet WHOLE?

My yard is tiny but every morning when i wake up the first thing i do is Surveying My Estate that involves the dead heading, checking what's happened overnight and any emergency watering, it also usually involves some photography
It's lovely isn't it? just seeing what's happening....if we have any sun i like to sit quietly and watch the bees and butterflies and hoverflies!

I love Puffins too! I went to Pembrokeshire with two old school pals last summer and saw lots of them when we went on a boat trip round the coast. Gorgeous! I missed seeing the adder!

Will you continue with Versailles? I thought I would stick with it in case it improves!

Oh you're so lucky i'm quite envious! my friend who lives on shetland taunts me with really close up photos of all the puffins near her!! they are so unusual looking and much tinier than i thought! very cute.

the adder was interesting, i think it was the reed warbler who gave a warning cry and all the wee chicks ran away form the nest just as an adder crawled in shot and checked the nest out
last year i remember seeing the adder predate a nest

i might try later on iplayer i've switched over to have the bourne legacy for now
let me know if it's worth watching again Twass

It's hard to tell so far, much as it has already been.....

Nature is often cruel as well as beautiful.

There's an African prince at the court of Versailles and Louis has commanded the Queen to entertain him
