yes exactly the same. Just a bit flatter. And now chopped up with rasperries in a melba pavlova - sorry about the coulis - its actaully raspberry jam and fruit juice whizzed in a blender. The rest is hom made though ( actually so was the jam originally)
Tuck in all.

Flat peaches on offer in Aldi this week part of the super 6 cost about 10p each

Your garden must be lovely, only got some pots myself, though they are nice and colourful. And the new pen? Sometimes some things are so worth it, when you are going to get so much pleasure from using it.

It's only a tiny yard, everything is pots but somehow through some weird magic it looks like a cottage garden and people are surprised when they find out it's all pots!! After being away for so long this year i've been especially into it. I have a hebe bush that's about five feet tall (it's taller than me!) that i thought was pretty much dead when i got back here (a lot of stuff did die in my absence) but i spent hours taking each leaf that had the dreaded black spot on it off carefully it must have taken three hours! When i finished it was a bunch of sticks with about 20 leaves on it, but with care and attention it has come back to life and is covered in buds - i'm thrilled because the bees and butterflies love it and i've had it for about 7 years now!! I am growing some seedlings for the first time from these enormous red poppies opposite my mum's house! i nabbed some seeds, apparently it takes two years from seed to getting a flower so i'm looking to the future.... if they are successful i shall see if there's a way of posting them!!!

I won't get the new pen for a while!! i ordered it online from an antique shop in hampshire !!! i know it's the middle of the night but i thought what happens if someone can't sleep and decides to buy it? But as you say sometimes you get so much pleasure from something it's worth it. Its been a crappy few weeks and i needed a treat Hopefully it will inspire me to start writing! Also i'm not keen on modern pens for some reason the nibs aren't as lush to write with....

Actually I have been meaning to have a chat with you about that P. You were poorly when we did our end of trial testing. I still don't know if I had CAV or a placebo but putting our heads together we ( the trialists collectively) after the event are all convinced I was in the CAV group.

I didn't lose any weight, I know that for certain. My gloucose tolerance and chloresterol tests were more or less the same. There were slight changes but nothing remarkable. I don't know about the internal inflammation tests yet. we won't get those until the final reveal filming day.

But while we were waiting around doing the gloucose I was telling the doctor behind the scenes about your experience with limes and he was quite interested. So don't be too surprised if limes feature in a future episode.

HAs everyone had enough pavlova. If so I will take it away for now. I will pop some into Dm over in BB. I have pulled rhubarab again this afternoon so am going to make another of those rhubarb and crystalised ginger flans. I might make it in the style of that French thing where you pour cake batter over cherries, but in tis case over roast rhubarb.

It sounds as if you're getting back to yourself! And, if I remember correctly, your lovely nurses helped with sorting your garden? That's beautiful. Oh I love poppies, my cousin has just changed her fbook pic to her ladybird poppies.

Hopefully your new pen, when it arrives, will inspire you.

Now gotta go, dragging bags of sand and planks of wood around today has me pooped. Nite and gods bless x

Oooooo interesting! You will let us know when the programme's on won't you?

The lime thing is more and more interesting, i was searching around for dietary changes i could make to prevent or ease arthritis (since my massive uric acid spike) and came across loads of forums where sufferers swap tips and they are all on the old limes every day!!! i thought i was imagining my recovery but it seems i was on to something!

For inflammation and reducing uric acid levels i am currently undertaking an experiment the foods i have researched to have an active effect on uric acid levels are:

tart cherry juice concentrate (two tablespoons a day for 2-3 months will reduce inflammation by 40-60% apparently!

a banana a day - apparently the potasium in the bananas react with the uric acid and make it more easily turned into a waste product in the kidneys (or something )

and low fat yogurt (not ful fat for some reason) is also supposed to have a good effect on arthritis/gout/inflammation - hence i am living on veggie chilli with low fat yoghurt at the moment i get my bloods done in another week so although it's only a few weeks i shall see if there's any effect yet.

eta ooo i forgot the new magicness of magnesium oil! which is magnesium chloride flakes dissolved in water and then sprayed topically onto the skin. Apparently some people have issues absorbing magnesium through the gut (especially if you've had large portions of it removed) and recent research has shown magnesium is better absorbed topically through the skin than through food in the gut.

Magnesium deficiency can be caused by surgery and diarrhoea (my two favourite hobbies ) and stress, it can have a massive effect on inflammation (especially in women around the menopause for any of you lurking!!). Studies have shown magnesium is anti inflammatory *gasps*. Anyway my brother's girlfriend sent me a bottle to try out and i've been using it for a week. It's like a miracle!!! I've been having really crippling arthritis in my feet and hands due to my uric acid spike and massively high blood markers for inflammation ) and a following the instructions sprayed 5 - 10 sprays on my feet and massaged it in. Pain goes within minutes The nightmare of burning feet keepiing me awake is cured if i spray before bed. It's astonishing.

Also the good news is apparenty you can't overdose if you absorb the magnesium topically. Sports people apparently lie in baths of it to aid quick recovery rates!!!!
This is the stuff i'm using but it's cheaper to buy the flakes and make your own up.

Read some of the stuff about magnesium and inflammation, magnesium and stress relief, pain relief, insomnia...it's amazing!!!

I am going to get some of the magnesium spray. My foot problem that I had got rid of for eight whole blissful months is back with a vengeance and I can barely hobble at the moment. Hopefully this may help!
