Hope you had a safe flight, tk! Back to Blighty....and for once it shouldn't be a blast of cold air welcoming you back....meant to be a scorcher today!

Not seen that planets.....is it one of those David Attenborough style documentaries with the gentle voice over and the stunning scenery?

hahahahhaaa no it's a film with Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt it's rather sweet....

it is warm today i've spent most of the morning trying to save a butterfly who seems determined to commit suicide in my house
It spent ages fluttering around my bedroom getting more and more panic ridden i managed to herd it into the bathroom and out the bathroom window. This took forever i may add! I was so delighted i had saved it i went to make a coffee and there it was battering at the kitchen window from the outside trying to get in. Will it land on any of my beautiful flowers grown especially for it to feed from? no just headbutts my windows all day

I rescued a lovely red admiral from my bedroom last week, managed to scoop it into my cupped hands where it trembled until I could get to an open window. When I opened my hands it was as if it had morphed into a cat. Just sat there on my hand, looking around, trying to decide if it wanted to go out or not!!! In the end I tipped it onto the windowsill telling it I hadn't got all day, then it put its antennae in the air and fluttered off.

I've just seen five or six cabbage whites dancing in the air, really close together, rising upwards. If they were mating it must have been a gang bang

Quite possibly. If you get the urge to lay eggs on the underside of leaves you'll know it succeeded

Eeek! Back home, everything is fine, but holiday seems like a dream

Still haven't caught up properly, but planets can you eat spuds? The Irish peasantry were the best nourished in Europe eating only them and buttermilk (which I know you can't have) until the blight came.

Bed now, bushed after travelling.

Welcome back tk.....it's always the way, you get back from holibobs and they seem like a dream within a few hours

im in new medication goes wrong phase again hoorah! but while looking for something to make me smile i found THIS which is extolling the virtues of google translate by putting the lyrics of One Day more from Les Miserables through Google Translate and singing the results. It made me cry with laughter.

This never ending path to Golgotha

No incarceration so far thank the gods *covers self in wood, licks seer's hand slaughter's bull and wears the blood* though back for latest test results wednesday *looks tense*
Lots of tests and feeling really poorly though super pain that morphine doesn't even touch is not fun

however.....ice lollies are!!! it's a weird mixture of a day here, a huge black cloud over my part of the dale all day, then went out to put screen wash in the car and i felt like i was in the tropics, 5 minutes later it's blowing a gale and freezing if i go out i fill the car with clothes that maybe required for every eventuality!!!

The pain sounds awful....can't they take you off the new meds, clearly they aren't suiting you?

Seems odd to me that other parts of the UK are cold while it's so blooming hot here.....although as you say it gets warm at times......

Are you able to eat stuff while feeling grim?

If I were you I would break all their ridiculous food rules and eat what I wanted! I sometimes wonder if you are under Dr Jon Snow

It has been a very good summer here. One of the best for a few years, although it generally is pretty good in the far south east.

We'll have to call you Guinea Pig instead of planets!

Welcome back p! I was worried you were incarcerated again.

Good for you on the pork sandwich, honestly you need some good protein.

Our local town got flooded today, just like twice last Christmastime. And this is early September

Scary re the flooding situation, are you OK on the farm? I am always grateful to be halfway up a hill here. The village, being at the bottom, floods terribly as an offshoot of the Stour flows past it.

I'd be interested to know if there were ill effects from the pork sandwich....if not.....EAT LOTS OF THEM!!!!!!!
