There you are, planets I'm so pleased to hear you can have normal food. I'm having roast pork as well tomorrow in your honour

I am regularly left baffled by Sleeps' posts but hopefully he will swing by and enlighten us all

Oh what an honour i hope you have a delicious lunch !!! Is mini Twass up for the weekend?

I'm ridiculously excited
We rang around everywhere to see who was doing Roast Pork this Sunday, everyone was doing Beef except....a 14th century castle! so i shall have to endure the hardship of a three course lunch (all i really want to do is binge eat pork )
I've been there for a wedding and it was amazing so fingers crossed we get a good meal. I had haggis before and it was delicious!

How are you doing we've had torrential rain hoping for a bit of warmth...

Torrential rain yesterday and today, and ten degrees cooler at least...which is BLISS! The rain is less pleasant but the garden needed it badly.

Mini T doesn't eat meat at all so no, she's not with me til Tuesday night, when having taken a few days off [as working all weekend] she is here for five days! During which fish and veggies only will be consumed. That's what I mostly have anyway so no hardship

But occasionally I do love a hunk of crackling covered pork.........*droools*

Something like that An, it is normally going to a funeral home or family home or church and sympathising with the family. It's when you have a bereavement of your own that you truly appreciate the support of the community. And we have loads of christenings!

Early night, big day tomorrow, county is playing in the football final {and I'm not keen on sport} but we've got the flags out. Tkjr is going, as is Irish brother and his 14 year old daughter. Not won since 1951, surely must be our time! Nite all.

Thank goodness for that. At least you will get some proper nutrition for at least a few days this year. My neighbour asked if I would like to try her chicken biryani earlier. I agreed - it seemed rude not too. I was expecting a spoonful or two as a sample and she turned up with a serving plate piled with enough to feed a family of 4. And I had already had my dinner. It is delicous though, fragrant, spicy but not hot. Do try....

That sounds yummy could you save the leftovers for later?

I'm recovering. I can't sit upright it's too painful but what a scrummy meal, i haven't eaten that much in years. Compared to a normal meal of 6 strawberries it was gargantuan!!! A one woman festival of meat

i had the most delicious ham hock roulade for starters which was exquisite, i was only going to have a taste of it as i can't eat much and i ate the whole thing then i had roast pork, the most enormous yorkshire pudding i've ever seen and 6 vegetables i behaved impecably An and felt your eye watching over me so i ignored all the vegetables (except the swede which was to die for) and chowed down on the illicit meat and yorkshire pud and roasties in delicious forbidden gravy oh my god it was delicious. Coconut pannacotta (spell check wants to change that to terracotta!) with a passionfruit gelee (my favourite passionfruit!!! what luck) coffee and chocolates
The castle is so beautiful, i went there for a wedding just before i got poorly and it was utterly magical and today didn't disappoint; my memories weren't rose coloured by time, it was just as magical today. Definitely taking any visitors there for a treat.

Hope everyone else had a superb day too!! Twass I hope you enjoyed your roast pork as much as i did mine! I ate more meat today than I've eaten in the last 6 months

i suspect my bloods tomorrow will be classified as Suinae ...

TWO own goals? One was bad enough but the second was downright careless!

What's cheat's roast beef?

oh gods it was watch through fingers time. And a goal equals three points, final score was 2 goals 9 points to 15 points, so obv without the own goals we would have won. It just reminded me why I don't watch sport, would be dead of a heart attack within minutes.

Aha, our local restaurant does a good roast beef Sunday lunch, and sells slices in deli to take home. So just do veg and gravy and voila, roast dinner.

I think you two have redefined pigging out. P I am absolutely willing those tests to show no change or improvement such that a daily dose of protein (pork based optional) is actively encouraged.

I never watch sport Lucky you having that restaurant. How easy would that be! Do they sell the gravy to go with it?

that i think is about this match, it's about superstition and apparently the team was cursed by a priest and they've never won since is this the same team tk it's a massive coincidence if not!

Never thought to ask for gravy, sure they would oblige. They are great, good shop, offy, restaurant, deli, even order in the English Sunday Times for me, and then, at the end, they are the undertakers.

I can't understand how anyone can recover from serious illness and thrive, without some good protein. Like An, I really hope the bloods show the way.

Absolutely, proteins are the building blocks of the body. Should be consumed every day
