It's starkly beautiful A very different landscape to here in Kent.

Looking at the sheep I'm singing "I'm blue ba ba dee ba ba di"
Yeah i love it.
I used to love going to Kent i liked the Bodiam Castle area and Lullingstone Roman villa and castle area is beautiful. There's parts in the dale that look like that it's just up on the tops that it looks like on't telly!
i love the space. miles with no one. glorious.

I've plenty of the wide open spaces hereabouts. Mini twass loves to go where you can see for miles over the fields and no sign of anyone. A nice antidote to London!

You say YOWS and I say YEWS
And I say YOES and TIPS never tups.

By gods planets I thought we lived a tough life but your neighbours (sniggers, am kidding).

What a lovely bit of telly, was busy cooking and eating while it was on so missed your comments.

No, it's nice to see communities that really haven't changed much for yonks! They may have more modern farming equipment but otherwise the life led is much the same as it ever was.

i love it here. it is hard but i'm sure as you find where you are, the quality of life and the landscape around you is priceless.if i'd still been living in london when i got ill i would have died. Can't imagine the nurses in london coming over to sort my garden out in their spare time like the ones here did when i moved back home!!

Many ways very similar twass, nothing like rolling green leafy fields. But being further west and surrounded by sea we don't get the hard snowy winters, but a lot of rain.

Mr tk was extremely envious of the tractor, quad, Jeep and trailer.

You lot laugh at my funeral going, but the feeling of community is awesome. I will forever be known as the Englishwoman (even though I went to secondary school with many farmers here) but can't imagine living anywhere else now.

Farm envy The quad can be a mixed blessing though. The local tinkers stole my farmer's first one and they can apparently tip you off quite unexpectedly!

We very rarely get snow here in the far South.

My Irish friend has told me many tales of life in rural Ireland. She's not lived there herself but her mum and nana grew up there and her granddad still lives there in a small village. How a fourth cousin is a close relation, and everyone in the village and others around can arrive for a cup of tea and a gossip at any time

can't speak for everyone tk but i know for myself i don't laugh at the funerals other than imagining them occurring in a sort of Father Ted type scenario (watched the racist episode last night " i hear you're a racist now Father that's grand" )

I always imagined in London i'd die in my flat and no one would notice for weeks until the smell upset people
everyone looks out for each other up here.
like if my mum was poorly the butcher would drive over from the next village with whatever she wanted for no charge, you feel cared for i guess. I understand what you mean about community. In that regard it's like the 1950s here.

Aw planets . There are lots of drawbacks, but living in 1950s village has a lot of good points.

So, you're a racist father, that's grand but with the farm, by the time I get in and have a cup of tea, I don't have the time.

Great plan! Probably not.

Oh Ted was sublime, my favourite ep Eourosong was, as everything else, based on reality. Ireland couldn't cope with another win, and entered a plagiarised song. Nobody noticed, and they had to out themselves at the last minute.

And King of the Sheep, Graham Linehan roaring F**king hell.
