Let me have a look in my crystal ball........................oh dear me no, that's not possible even for magick!

The bees in my chimney all went bonkers for an hour or so today....I went to go out shopping, opened the door and all I could hear was the loudest BUZZING! The garden was full of them milling about, thousands of 'em. The chimney pot was black with them. There are no shortage of honey bees round these here parts for sure! They seem to be settling back down....I suspect they were not keen on me lighting the fire at the weekend. But they'll have to get used to that. Maybe I melted their honey stores

Yes, it said if you had swarm like activity in Autumn it was likely abandonment of their nest. Which would mean they wouldn't survive the winter. However, they all seem very firmly attached to my chimney. They don't come in the house, and they don't bother me, so they are welcome to stay but I will be lighting the fire in the evenings! Maybe there was some kind of big bee protest going on if my farmer is using non bee friendly stuff on the fields Maybe they were all like "DOWN WITH PESTICIDES" and "BAN THE FERTILISERS". THey didn't all poo on my washing as they do when they swarm for real in the summer though so that was a bonus

Not really...these are honey bees, they aren't bright yellow and stripey...more brownish.

It's been warm in the sun today which may have brought them out...chillier now. I will nip out and check the chimneypot situation!
