Mum used to make it often, as did her mum! I've made it for years

Indeed. *gives chins a hard Paddington like stare*

Not at all! It is just a moist fruit cake. The boiled bit is that the first stage is to heat up the butter or marge, dried fruit, water or juice and sugar in a saucepan and cook for a bit, which makes the fruit very soft and juicy. You let it get cold before adding the flour etc. Makes a very moist fruitcake, not as heavy as a crimbo cake, a lighter fruit cake
Or tea I believe can be used

yes indeed!!! i was hoping for some crispy George crackling

lovely to see Dr Ennis get his girl and for the reconciliation of mr and mrs ross at the end.

all those clips after does that mean they've filmed lots of series 3 already?
Looks like it. It seems the odious Reverend Osbourne is already in the can. Don't you guys know the story? Its lucky I haven't really engaged with this production as I would have been a most unpopular spoiler.

I have read all 12 books at least twice and saw the original 1970s production several times,

Oh he's vile
Well i read the books when i was about 14 never re-read them and they seem to have been pushed back into the Dark Archive of my brain.
I can remember some stuff from the storylines but not others. Like i can't remember how and when George dies

oh i forgot to say, i don't remember loathing Elizabeth this much in the previous version or the books maybe i blanked it out?
she drives me nuts though

is it the character or is it that the actress is terrible and only has one expression that looks like female Zoolander?
Its this portrayal of Elizabeth that I have struggled with most. She is all wrong. The first Elizabeth (Jill Townsend) managed to convey both a patrician aloofness and vulnerability at the same time. I was able to care about he because she seemed fragile and something of a victim of circumstance. This one is too knowing and earthy. Also I think they have overdone the input of the Aunt Agatha role.

When they show this Elizabeth i can actually hear the wind rushing through the cavity in her skull.

i quite like Agatha though, she makes me laugh so i don't mind and as an added bonus she distracts me from how annoyingly vacant Elizabeth is

Just let me know when you're ready!! Hopefully they can do another tweak and get rid of the ickiness.

So I've heard, although I've never tried it.

I've read all the books several times and remember all the story well although I too was trying to recall how George dies. It must be wishful thinking on our parts!!

Well if you did you and Winston Graham are of one mind.
A particularly gruesome end

Horrible faux pas last evening, mrk went to visit his bereaved friend next door. Daughters and daughter in law all present and cleaning/cooking, when one said wtte don't forget Strictly results. -. and mrtk said oh it's sad Laura went. Cue stony faces. That is why I don't go on sm on Sunday

I'd rather have snowmaggedon than the one Trump is likely to unleash on the world

Morning planets, hope you've plenty of supplies laid in and that they'll clear the roads near you! I know you have many medical appointments to get to
