Technology is a bugbear, it has ruined decent life. There will never be a change. I love walking in the hills. There is a tipping point where kids won't care less and rather kick a copper.

Have you ever been rambling?

I live in a World Heritage Site of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Rambling is a way of life here

From when i was little my mum always took us out for rambles and picnics in the middle of nowhere. i spent a year rambling round various deserts, rainforests, coastlines and temperate forests.....i'm almost professional

Seriously, yes it's the thing i miss most about being so feeble at the moment. I used to do a 5 mile loop every morning before breakfast and i loved how every day was different the seasons changing incrementally, what's in bloom, I miss finding flowers i've never seen before and looking up to see what they are or some weird bee variety....i'm a bit weird like that

So not weird. Finding anything that might be classed as an orchid makes your day. Living at the edge of the sea and an estuary is always a good thing, we are at the Ribble).

Do you know much about Settle, we are there for a week early December?

We get early purple orchids as you say i get ridiculously excited when i find them! i found a whole bank of them one time my face was

I grew up about 5 minutes walk from the beach!! I love a bit of beachcombing

It's a way south of me but i have been round those parts. It's nice round Settle lots of hiking and fell walking, Gordale Scar is cool also you are close to forest and dales so you can zoom off in any direction and find something cool! You can also nip over to the Lakes easily from there Kendal isn't far.

There's the Settle to Carlisle railway i've always wanted to do that trip.

yes i can't tolerate brown but i made a weird version i'd not done before it was delicious!!! i made some nice basmati then tossed some chopped spring onions and sweetcorn in a little butter roasted a red pepper and mixed it all up and had it with some chicken marinaded in garlic and ginger!! it was utterly yummy so thank for inspiring me!!
You're welcome! Ours was pretty impressive, mini t was making foodgasm noises

I'm the same, if i wanted something i saved up until i had enough money to buy it then i bought it. If i didn't have enough money to buy something then i couldn't buy it.

PPI cold callers find that concept impossible to understand.
I've always been the same, never borrowed anything. I have no credit history ...... my dad always said if you haven't got enough money you can't afford it.

They had baubles for 10p, I got two smashers...mini t got two jumpers, I thought I had a wooden owl for £1.50 but it wasn't in the bag when we got home....maybe I wasn't meant to have him. We just decided to go for it with the decs and have them up a good chunk of time

What a shame about the pear....I often try to peel their label off things before buying to see if it will come off OK. Possibly the little owl is in the car and fell out of the bag....I will check tomorrow.

I love hoar frosts too, magical! Amazing! Rare things this far south but there was one in 2013 just after I moved in. Beautiful!

Oh poor owl! I bet he makes his way to you somehow. Do you know, as the years roll on, I put the decs up earlier, they are so cheerful and hide a multitude

Even the nettles and the ragwort (slaps wrist of supposed weed controller) look magical.

Same here tk. You make all the effort of putting them up, might as well have them up a decent amount of time!

Haha, exactly, I like SCD as a welcome, glittery distraction from the cold and dark, I like some dances, dislike others but it's a bit of fun. The conspiracy theories are depressing and I'd never dare to enter over there except to thank the spoiler toilers for their efforts.
