That would be my choice too. Even better if you can find a marmalade on the bitter or tart side.

A visit to the cafe near where my pal lives in Hertfordshire today....probably for an all day brekky, and a trip to Asda cafe on Sunday on the way to the cinema....I am off to London on an overnighter, the Levellers tonight and the film Fantastical Beasts on Sunday! Then home by the evening We know how to live. Bacon will be involved

*heaves oneself into thread* hello all, hope you're having a good weekend.

Hammy stuff, saw Mary Berry recommending mango chutney as a glaze. The national dish, bacon and cabbage, never uses a glaze. Boil bacon/ham, always cook cabbage in bacon water, gorgeous.

Moved bullocks into shed today, only two cows to go. Winter is here.

I've made the decision, I'm going Irish tk!!!
I've popped it in the slow cooker with a carrot and onion and some peppercorns.

right can people offer me insight into their thoughts over the following please i'd really appreciate it.

Recently some old friends i have known for 25 years (but have been out of proper contact with the last couple of poorly years) have been in contact and are asking how i am. i don't know what to reply so i haven't answered their mails.

I don't know whether to just lie and say "great!" or to tell the truth.
Part of me want to lie cos it's depressing and awkward for the people hearing about ill health but then i don't like lying to people. So i decided to come and ask you guys what you think!

There aren't enough swear words in the language to express how delicious that ham was/is.

I went irish. I'm never going back

Cooked it in the slow cooker, just had hot ham with leeks in a cheese sauce and mashed swede with mashed carrots in and &u$D *e it was delicious.

There's plenty left if anyone fancies any

I'd be honest with them, but brief, sparing of detail but without dumbing it down. Then wait for the reaction.
