Well, ham or bacon and root vegetables are the staple diet round here. And cheese with just about everything!

The new gravel does look smart, and I can now get to the washing line without wading through mud. Now to load my aching back into the car and deliver a few pressies to nieces (and hoping to get some chips on the way home!). *waves to twass*
do you think i'm becoming irish ?

you must be knackered! good luck with the chips

I'm amazed the chippies are open on a Sunday None are round these parts.

I could happily survive on the Irish diet and I think planets could too!

Goodnight folks, did a bit of pressie distribution then to diner for chips. One of their specials, chicken Maryland was on the menu, so ordered that, forgot to specify chips so got mashed potatoes, broccoli, carrots, mashed swede and gravy. Ordered a dish of chips on the side and all happy.

Then called to Tesco and discovered the last three tubs of Haagen Dazs salted caramel ice cream on offer at €3 a tub. Happy days

I used to make sweetcorn fritters out of a can of creamed corn and a can of kernels mixed together with flour and an egg yolk, then dipped in more flour and fried in plenty of hot fat. They were lush!!

You did the 100 mile round trip! You've most certainly done your good deed. The present basket sounds fab, I would love to receive that!

I still have a very hardy little daisy blooming on my drive. I call it my daughter's daisy as it is always in flower when she visits and daisies are her favourite flower

I'm just getting ready to go up the little wooden stairs myself I love daisies. I would never try to get rid of them, or the buttercups, from the lawn. It looks much nicer with them.

You're off on a gallivant today aren't you? Have a smashing time.

It was the most amazing sunrise today, looked like the world was on fire. Now it's grey and drizzly again.

I teared up a bit when i saw them having such a big hug when we arrived
They were very nostalgic and talking about when they were young girls during the war etc I love hearing all that stuff. I felt really illl when i woke up but i'm so glad i made the effort cos they were both delighted to see each other and my aunty was so pleased we visited.

Driving home last night was the most amazing sunset there was a lot of overhead cloud but the horizon was afire like a Turner painting. Gorgeous.
