That didn't make a dent in my sense of humour. We need to get to the root of this!

It might help with that too, because it will make it harder for the warm wet air (that you breath out etc) come into contact with the cold surface where it ocndenses. The film stays a bit warmer so wet air can't condense as easily. It also reduces circulatory draughts - warm air cooling against the window, tumbling down and setting a circuation in motion. Plus the obvious idea which is to create a pocket of semi warm air as an insulator over the windows. Not that I am not saying it is perfect and no substitute for proper double glazing but it certainly helps.
You can also get perspex double glazing that you fix on with somethign like velcro. Much more expensive but resuable year in year out and you can take it down whenever you want to open a window. Or you can if the window is quite small, which most sashes are. I considered it for my kitchen window which is a source of circulation draughts, despite being double glazed, but at 6ft x 4ft I couldn't manage to put the perspex in and out on my own and then there is the summer storage issue. ![]() Quote:

Being a skinflint, I will try the clingfilm method first and if it's not really a solution I will get a roll of that and see what difference it makes

Here's an interesting thing.
CBB hasn't inspired me to watch. It appears to be a line up of has beens that I disliked last time they were in the house and never wases. That's fine by me, I can focus my time on the stuff I am supposed to be doing instead of being distracted. But what is interesting is the way the BB forum has been tonight. I have been watching that to see who was going in rather than actually watch the tedium of 'put them in night' Even in the glory days I didn't find the first few nights very interesting. So I have been watching the forum and conclude the art of debate has vanished somewhere. Rather than chat, discuss or even argue most of the threads are either single OPs with no repsonse or have perhaps 2 or 3 replies. Apart from WHATM and the live show threads the longest thread over the past 3 pages has been about 33 posts and the majority have fewer than 10 posts. Its like a bunch of forumites shouting into the room. There is however a guy from GOT in the house which might be of interest to you folks. |

As you say, there is no debate or sharing of insight and perception anymore it's just shouting like toddlers having a tantrum. On the plus side, i won't have to see James Jordan again. Speaking. Or breathing.

That was the way it was heading years ago when i stopped bothering. It all became it bit Lord of the Flies: if you said anything (even just an observation of what was actually said, rather than what people imagined was said in order to confirm their particular bias) it would immediately result in ad hominem attacks and weird little groups following people around waiting to scream and shout nonsense.

That would almost be preferable to what seems to be going on tonight. Everyone is ignoring everyone else and simply opening their own one post thread. Ont he front page abotu 20 minutes ago only 2 threads had gone into a second page. On page 2 only one thread had more than 25 posts and on page 3 of the forum none did expect an old thread which has been open for a week ( this excludes WHATM and the live chat)
just when i thought i was out they pull me back in.................

YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! I have succeeded! Went into the butchers and told him I was hoping for turkey bits for soup and he said "Madam, it's your lucky day" and indicated the chopping block behind him where a pile of legs and wings and thighs sat waiting to be boned out for mince. I got a whopping bagful for three quid!
![]() JOY! So I shall be roasting them for a nice dinner tonight and possibly for days to come and stewing the bones for soup. RESULT!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]()
