5-6 weeks depending on prevailing winds
Oh Lordy! You wouldn't want to get on that boat to realise you despised every single person on it!

Fair play to the people who do it. I think I'd end up annoying people because I'd get bored after the second day and would resort to childish mischief. They'd have to stop by a cruise boat and let me get on it! 😇

couldn't get far but HERE is the blizzard!

dammit don't they need debilitated wise women on this trip?

N.B. not sure i'd be keen on viking toilet facilities
That blizzard looks amazing

I'm not sure Vikings have toilet facilities of any kind Especially not on a longship!

Speaking of which I have succumbed. The first disc is playing!

You made it far enough to get a fabulous pic

Spoiler
Without wanting to sound creepy, where abouts are you from? (I'm not asking for an exact location!!) EDIT: Just realised I quoted the wrong person... Sorry! I was after planets and their snow piccy

No snow here in Mankychester. I do hope I see some. Abroad, people assume England has white Christmases all the time. No such luck. It's funny, because in places where they never have snow, they always expect snow to be the most insane, amazing fun thing ever. I always said it was fun for about ten minutes, after that you're just cold and wet. Albeit, here I am, waiting for the snow to arrive, admittedly jealous of those who have been graced with its presence...

i'm with you i'm all for photographing it when it first falls as you say after that it just makes everything more difficult. It does make everything incredibly photogenic though

I'm totally jealous, down here in the soft far South we've yet to have a frost, never mind snow! When I first moved into my cottage, I moved in to snow. It was beautiful. Although the mover men trod slush all through the place

In fairness, I hadn't seen frost yet until I went for a walk up into some moorland. I usually hate winter, but it's like some huge nostalgia-fest for me at the moment, so when I saw the frost, I couldn't help it - and had to walk over it to hear the crunch of the grass underneath my shoe. Was lovely. It's the little things in life, right? 😟

Oh yes. I love all the seasons, and we've not had Winter yet this far south. Bring on the frost and the ice and snow, the white skies and hoar frost hanging from the trees in glittering spikes! Even if I am snowed in [entirely possible] I want it

Hellooooo!! Sorry wasn't around, up to me eyes atm. DVDs arrived yesterday and I can't even open them!

Planets, twass was right back there, this year you are the present, make the festive hat with a big dangly bauble and TA DAH!! (Love the decorations twass).

Fingers in ears a lot, but please keep discussing. Snow on hills and mountain but roads still passable. Now I have to go and wrap stuff, and keep an eye on the Strictly spoiler ...

Tut! Lovely hat teamed with usual northern thermals (honestly, taken off twice this year, once for Manchester wedding and once for Lanzarote holiday).

Might get a rest day in, oh February?? Oh sh.. calving.
