I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The Lady Mary Robot almost seems human at times
I must have missed that episode!

it's very subtle, you have to really keep your eye out for sub-textural clues

Never watch Downton either.....Never will reading your "recommendations"

Ooh I love a manly beard. Call me peculiar
Hi Peculiar.

Fancy a bit of cake. I found it in a beard where it had got caught a week ago.

Re Downton. Its not high quality drama but is strangely watchable. I find it goes very well with my slightly inebriated post Sunday night dinner haze.

I just had a pistachio Magnum......most lush, and it's so warm here in my daughter's flat even with no heating on it feels like a summer evening. It doesn't sound like one outside though more like hurricane Edna!

Runs in for shelter, massive gales and horizontal rain. Ironically water was cut off today so couldn't get immediate cuppa!

Why would someone write 8 posts complaining about a programme when they freely admit they didn't watch it? Isn't that like reviewing a restaurant you've never been to?

It's like someone who has never watched Strictly moaning about people moaning about it. I'D never do that of course

I'm in need of some emergency cat whispering/stuff sending out on the ether and wotnot. One of the brother in laws moggies has been missing since the weekend He (Dexter) and his brother are the original horsey cats. HUGE buggers you really could saddle up and ride. Never seen 'domestic' cats like it. Makes Norty look like the size of a mousey. Any thoughts, prayers, whisperings, woo-woo goings on most appreciated. He's a beautiful boy and we are all worried sick xx

In another thread there was a link to a review and subsequent tantrum by the author being reviewed. The reviewer gave a generous review, based on the appalling examples of writing such as: "Don and Katy watched hypnotically Gino place more coffees out at another table with supreme balance."

In response to that sentence the author replied ""... what I read above has no flaws. My writing is fine" and posted some amazon reviews which it turns out she had written herself and told the reviewer to "**** off" several times. Sadly the worst of her rants have been deleted but reading the subsequent comments you can see what happened....

How to win readers and influence people

Loved this comment the most

The best thing about self-publishing is that anyone can do it.

My face was like this as i read it! my favourite was "....what I read above has no flaws." It's such a shame the rants got deleted but we get snippets throughout the thread of the true horror...i'm off to check amazon

Any sign of Dexter?

She's the only one who can't seem to see any flaw in that Don and Katy sentence
I dread to think what the rest of the book is like

Sounds a bit like what I'm reading at the moment. It's not badly written but the sentences are all far too long and rambling. You can tell the author was trying too hard and it makes it a bloody effort to read

Still no sign of the fella

It's astonishing isn't it?
You're not reading her other book are you? This is one sentence "When it comes to much needed love and Owen the next door neighbor is the only man in their lives, in reality, only one can have him, but it may appear everyone's in denial as each live out a fantasy with deep and somewhat strange psychological consequences in this gripping short story as they deal in their own way to let go of the guilt of a tragic family accident."

dammit *fries kippers*
