Merry Christmas Everyone. I am wrestling with a couple of Christmas conundrums right now. I have a leg of lamb in the oven which is supposed to be slow cooking over 7 hours. Its been in there 3 and its done! It could be a very early dinner or even lunch!

Hope everyone is having a peacesful day.

Now thats what I miss about the non trad approach to Christmas. I like a Christmas dinner but can take it or leave it. Its the Boxing day left overs I really like and miss. I love a turkey sandwich with cranberry, stuffing and even a dollop of bread sauce. I also love our customary Boxing day feast. We have left over turkey and ham, bubble and squeak with the left over veg from the day before, sausage balls, pigs in blankets, pickles, red cabbage and apple and peas ( always peas - no idea why)

I just turned yesterdays left oer lamb ( which was lovely by the way) into a Shepherds pie and a scotch broth. Nice but not the same. Having said that lamb does rechaufe well better than most roast meats in my opinion.

Traditionally we always had exactly what you mention An, right down to the bubble and squeak....I do miss the cold turkey but I also like beef and very rarely have roast beef due to being on my ownsome. So it was a treat, and it was very tender so the sarnies will be good...but cold turkey is gorgeous with cold bread sauce and a dollop of cranberry!

Turkey curry is always good, and I used to do a Turkey and ham pie with leftover stuffing included back in the day. It always seemed to last a good 4/5 days and then the carcass got souped.

Happy Christmas An!

The boxing leftover cold turkey, bubble and squeak feast is my mum's favourite part of christmas food! your description of boxing day feast is exactly what we are having tonight She prefers that to the main meal. I LOVE a turkey sandwich i remember the glory days of my youth when i could manage turkey sandwiches on CHRISTMAS DAY after lunch I just don't have the capacity now Like you i enjoy a good healthy dollop of cold bread sauce and also a slice of cold gravy yum i like the way it goes solid when cold so you can slice it....blisss

glad the lamb turned out well!

we make turkey rissoles too which i LOVE, i pop some in the freezer and they are just delicious and very versatile. i adore the turkey broth that gets made.

i've never had a crap dry turkey i can't imagine what people do to them to make them awful
