So well done, far better than I'd expected. I think so often things don't live up to the hype, it's great when things turn out to be even better

Are you curry stuffed?
i'm really enjoying it - it gets better with each episode.

i am horizontal with curry

hahaa yes me too!!! I love his "i've got a plan you don't know about "face

Just a mild korma An! bizarrely whilst what's left of my colon won't tolerate green vegetables anymore it has no problem with curry which i found really weird
i'd expect it to like porridge and they were forever trying to get me to eat ice cream in hospital which gave me the effects of severe gastroenteritis!

there's the cutest calf on countryfile called Darcy
Performing an arabesque en pointe was it?

The withdrawal is so bad I spent the morning reading season 4 spoilers, looking at pics and reading all the real historical evidence for Ragnar Lothbrok

A chocolatey biscuit would go down just right. Out all day, just got in after an egg and chips dinner/supper in our local caff, so tea and a biscuit will finish that off nicely.

Have a lovely few days Twass.

I see that they didn't (totally unsurprisingly) use the original "Ten Little".

Just checking in to see how you are doing. I hope none of you are flooded or damaged by the storms. Windy here in the Midlands but so far so good in my locality.

I take it your place is dry? Can you hunker down and survive for a few days if need be. Thank goodness you are not having daily dressing changes still.

dryish! i have a leak in the porch (where the porch joins the sitting room door) and the roof of my shed has blown away
The roads weren't looking good and i 'm not too well today, rather than risk getting halfway there and maybe missing the appointment and having some horrendous trapped in a car with an uncontrollable bowel experience i've postponed till next week.

It is such a joy to not have to have the day totally ruled by dressing changes!!! One of my nurses dropped by my mum's over christmas to say hello! I remember when we had big snow they were telling me stories about the mountain rescue service taking them on their rounds!! "Don't worry we will always get to you" not enough publicity given to the wonderful work the community nursing system does. Not just to people like me but the older patients living alone with no family who might not see anyone. Nothing but admiration and gratitude for all of them.

I got so caught up in flooded road reports i missed breakfast
crumpets and tea for brunch i think!

I bet!! I hope she had a quiet christmas work wise. I love the Peak Districtic it's so beautiful. I know the nurses LOVE it in the summer round here because of how beautiful it is. They can't imagine being trapped in a ward all day now.

I got a present this christmas and i immediately thought of you (and Fink)!
It was a token for a publishing company called Persephone books. They specialise in re-printing neglected and out of print books (mainly women authors) and the collection includes novels, short stories, diaries, memoirs and cookery books. With the token i got a catalogue (which was just beautiful in itself) for me to choose my book. .Each book has its own page in the catalogue where you have a wee précis, clips and photographs associated with the book/author and a thumbnail of the fabric endpapers (the endpapers are GORGEOUS!!! i'd like a book of all the endpapers!).

I just rang up and ordered my choice and they were absolutely charming! If you have any friends who are of a literary bent i can thoroughly recommend it as a present to give (or indeed want to treat yourself) i've loved reading the catalogue it's been fascinating.

It sounds lovely. I di still like a real book it seems. I loaded up the kindle before I went away but barely touched it. Instead I read a book which had been left at the villa by James Herriot's screen wife, Call the Midwife which my Mum took and New York by my favourite living author - Edward Rutherford.

To be fair to the kindle it probably had as much to do with what I loaded on it. I am sure had the Edward Rutherford been on kindle it would have been far more convenient to read, especially in the evenings ( the villa wasn't very well lit for reading)

I prefer a physical book myself.
There's something about reading off a screen that stop me from getting totally "lost" in the book - if you know what i mean. I know they are really convenient and useful etc but i just don't like them. There's something about physical books - even when they are so well read they are falling apart - that i just adore. I love second hand books when people have written little messages to the recipient of the book.

Regarding the light issue before i went in for my op i got a Mighty Bright book light so i wouldn't disturb anyone with my overhead light if i wanted to read, and it is fab! I use it in bed as i light quite low light. Also useful as a torch during an unexpected powercut.
