As I don't live in mainland UK, I can't actually vote, which I think makes a difference to how I perceive Strictly. I think that once people start making the effort to vote, especially if that vote costs them, as the phone votes do, then they become far more invested in their favourite couple and so are perhaps more likely continue voting for that couple no matter what. I tend to like some couples better than others, but because I don't have that degree of emotional investment in them, my favourite-of-the-week changes depending on the dance and performance each week.

Some series I have had a favourite from very early on and have wanted them and only them to win (Alesha and Chelsee). Other years I've had a preference but not been too bothered. This year I haven't really pinned my colours to anyone's mast and have voted for Jay, Jeremy, Carole, Anita, Helen and Georgia at different times.

I do end up favouring one of the technically good dancers but currently I would fine if Jeremy won. His sheer enjoyment is a joy to watch for me.
