I liked the dance , one of my faves of the night , slightly under marked ,
Out of all the couples they are the most touchy freely , ,
So don't help themselves with rumours

I agree , but he does that little boy lost act (like tonight again) and the votes roll in .It's like shooting fish in a barrel . Ah well , whatever works to get the trophy I suppose .

The same is true with good looking ladies naturally but men are less inclined to actually pick up the phone and vote on programmes of this nature.

I don't know him to say whether he is a nice guy or not but I certainly don't dislike him either.”

Well I'm voting for him and I definitely left my teens a long time ago 😍

Agree 100% 😀

BIB I thought so too; The judges are particularly tough when judging him; I know it's because he is a great dancer and they expect more but still....

Btw I like this dance but it could have been and should have been so much better and that's why I am disappointed . I am really hoping the judges choose this dance for them to re-do in the finals instead of their Quicktep. It will be the perfect dance to show his growth as a performer over the course of the show.

If he had smouldered over Aliona he would be getting slated for inappropriateness.

I think he is trying to get the dance right, first and foremost though.

It's not so much about liking it or not, it's about watching a person with no training (acting, dancing, or performance arts of any kind) demonstrating the emotions we expect to see in the AT or any other dance.

You either connect with him or you don't.”

Indeed there's been lots of cases of people deemed to have discovered their inner actor - who just did it badly a bit more. Equally there were some people accused of not acting enough 'who were then deemed to be doing briliantly even though they had been doing as well before. We had Louis praised for acting nothing well, and Rachel' FHM's sexiest ever female' accused by Len of lacking sex appeal.

I'm not at all surprised that his AT was underwhelming as his personality just isn't suitable for the dance. AT needs to have passion and he may be considered to be cute but sexy he is not!
Lucky for him to have gotten this dance out of the way before the business end of the competition.

What complete and utter rubbish! He is a young lad who is still a little out of his depth. But he is being taught to dance admirably by his professional partner. I take the view that if anything he is a little shy and gauche. To equate that with lacking any charm is crass. He has a great deal more than some of the competitors. To say otherwise indicates a need of the writer to experience a bit more of life.

He does have the little boy lost look especially when getting marked from the judges ,
But no doubting he is a very talented celeb dancer ,

If he had an ounce of the personality of Anita , it would be

As others have said, the whole 'performance' thing is just to give him a storyline. None of the others really act either - I watched Kellie all through her dance and all she did was stare into the distance with a vacant fixed grin. I don't see that as emoting or performing. Helen just looked slightly scared and serious throughout her rumba and I didn't feel any passion. But she has the 'needs to unlearn her ballet training' storyline and Jay gets the 'needs to perform' line as he is quiet and clearly much better technically than any of the others so needs something to work on. I loved Mark R's AT, but I don't think he was putting on a great performance acting-wise, he just completely looked the part so that did it for him. Jay just doesn't have a dark, smouldering look and pulling faces isn't going to change that.

However, I feel like he should be able to ignore what the tabloids are saying about him and Aliona and Just dance.
They have great chemistry on the dance floor but it seems like at times he was just performing steps and not actually living the dance like he had in their other routines.

Thoughts ?”

Yes I do think they are ........... but only because the rumours have affected Aliona and has changed their on screen "chemistry" which is affecting their dance.

I'd rather him be as he is than have that fake, cheeky chappy persona that Andre oozes out every week.
