Kellie's skirt and top looked awful. Can't think of any dance they would have been suitable for.

And Kevin's trousers looked as if they had been bought cheap from a local market. They were far too tight and looked ridiculous for ballroom, especially with the pockets sticking out on both his hips. I've said it before, and I'll it again -

Dance Trousers Should NEVER EVER Have Pockets.

Agree with everything you write, especially regarding the men's trousers. Kevin's were a hideous colour and shape.

I thought Kevin looked ridiculous and when I saw Kellie's dress on ITT I thought it looked awful for a Waltz. But once she started dancing, I thought the skirt was lovely, especially the way the pretty top layer flared up. That said, I much prefer a long or calf length gown for the Waltz. It's about the elegance of the dance.

I commented on another thread about Kellie's costumes. I have observed from the beginning of the series her outfits, on the whole, have been awful and have done nothing to enhance her. What's going on here? lol

They always used to colour coordinate the outfits, eg, female in white and blue, male in blue and white, all with sparkle, every dance costume should have sparkle shouldn't it?
Nowadays, you often see female in lilac and purple, male in red and orange ( bit extreme but you know what I mean) I don't get it.

Poor Kellie's top looked like something from Ethel Austin circa 1992. The skirt was nice enough- but the top didn't look like it belonged on the same show -or woman- that brought us her black tasselled jive dress.

And Kevin -and quite a few of the male pro's this year- was given trousers that look like they've been bought off the high street. Not a problem in itself- but the pockets look wrong, and the trousers are too tight (hence the crotch ripping after a lunge in a previous dance) and they're not even nice trousers- cheap'n'flashy rather than elegant. And if fit, toned dancers can't look good in them, there's something very wrong with the style of trousers.

The best men's outfit I have seen is Tristan's silver grey ensemble (waistcoat and trousers) which he wore earlier in the series. I tried to find a picture but got bogged down in looking at some of them!

Kevin's trousers were awful, no idea why he agrees to wear them, unless he wants them like that Jay, apart from week 1 is in proper style trousers, no idea if he or Aliona insist on it, so wardrobe can do them, why they don't for Kevin is a bit of a mystery, and if he thinks they look good someone should really have a word.

I do agree with you, but my thoughts were they were "playing" older people moving house, hence the box with "memories" on it....I am waiting for the day when they give Kellie a beautiful full length gown to wear. Ballroom needs to be danced in a full length dress and preferably tails for the man.

The problem is they gave him side pockets, which of course gap when you dance. If you notice on the costume of Giovanni, he had no pockets, which creates a better line.

It would take about ten minutes for wardrobe to sew up the pockets of the shop bought trousers! I'd volunteer myself even, as long as I could do the fitting!

Alijaz has had these sort of trousers as well as Kevin.

The pockets on the men's trousers are driving me mad this series. The gaping is ugly, distracting, and completely ruins the leg lines.

If budget constraints mean that wardrobe absolutely must buy standard daywear trousers off the peg, then they really should spend a few minutes sewing the pockets up. And surely one of the dancers must have pointed the issue out to them, or they must have noticed it themselves?

The pockets on the men's trousers are actually becoming a 'thing' with me now. They irritate me beyond belief. There is no excuse for a wardrobe team who professionally dress dancers to have the men in trousers with pockets. They are so ugly and spoil the lines when they dance.

Both Kevin and Aljaz have worn them this year as have some of the male celebs. If someone at the BBC has decided to save money by buying high street trousers for the men then at the very least take the pockets out and sew up the seams.

Send me them and I'll do it!

I thought they were meant to be an old couple looking back at memories, as we saw in the tedious opening of the dance.
Kellies dress looked like it was meant to have an apron over it.
I actually liked the skirt it was really pretty and would have looked lovely with a fitted top part. Her hair wasn't that bad either. Better than that awful bun she wore on ITT a few weeks back, that was criminal!

There seems to be a real obsession with keeping Kevin and Kellie welded to the 1950s and nostalgia dances. I'm still trying to forget the bee hotel hair from the foxtrot.

As others have said, the actual skirt was lovely, it would have looked better as a complete dress. To me it looked tatty as a two piece thing. I have no idea what is going on with Kevin's trousers, but it needs to stop.

This year's Caroline I suspect - same dress, different beads. Maybe Kellie made the mistake of saying early on that she'd prefer not to wear anything long, or that she loved 50s style clothing and now those words are tacked up in large letters on Wardrobe's wall.

The trouble is that it is the fashion for men to have very skinny trousers which actually is a rather ugly look. Makes their feet look enormous for one and also make the trousers crease badly across at the top of their legs. Giovanni wore a perfect pair of trousers yesterday, no pockets!

I was told by one of the dancers last year (when it started) that wardrobe had taken to using high street trousers for the males on some occasions Brendan made a comment about them last year about why so many trousers are splitting and that is why pockets are visible because they or ready made, No dance trousers ever have pockets

I think those who moan least seem to be at back of queue for costumes - Vicky Gill needs to get out of head set that smaller dancers should have short ballroom dresses which lets face it have not been worn in ballroom comps since the 70's

I liked his trousers very much, sad as I am! In fact I liked both GG's outfits. Kevin had nice trews for his jive

Absolutely revolting outfit for the poor woman, and a milk maid's hairdo to boot, awful.

In fairness I have seen her wear that hairdo before so think it might be ones she does herself? I got Swiss/Tyrolean vibes between the hair and outfit but Kevin looked more weird 70s. His outfit hadn't registered before so I went back to look after reading the comments - very odd

I think bendy could be right about buying trousers off the high street because there was something on ITT maybe last year or the year before about sending someone out to buy a load of trousers for a dance. Maybe a pro dance or something.

Ian wears the same style on ITT and it's not a great look, but that's fashion for you. Last year it was Kevin and Mark Wright wearing them, so maybe the fashion will start to die off as it's been around for so long.

Kevin's shirt didn't match anything at all!

Think a 6 year old win a competition

Trouble is a waltz dress should look like a little girl imagines a princess to be when she grows up and if it's not I always find the dance a little underwhelming

How many old men would wear skin tight pink'ish coloured trousers?
