Max - That was NOT a reinvention!
LMAO

Max just copied Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of that mashup, including the teeny tiny guitar, plus he did yet another reggae stylee song... So what exactly did he reinvent??

What a crappy week, they need to have 2 minutes silence for all the songs that have died on the show tonight.... They are all horrendous!!!

He's getting quite a good reaction though, people seem to like it!

Same as Nick trying to claim the arrangement for California Dreaming was original when it was just Sia's (excellent) cover version of it.

I am still at a loss at what he is doing in the final as he robbed Jennifer of a place.

Thats no suprise, because its a totally awesome when Israel sings it too, doesn`t change the fact that they are having one rule for one act & a diff rule for another.

Interesting how Simon decided to sabotage his other act instead of cheating with them both.

Lauren or Seann performances weren't reinventions either....

He's not the first person to do a cover of Israel's version of it either, it was done on Glee and by Cliff Richard

Jason Castro also did the same version on American idol. He also sang hallelujah...... Simon watched it all and brought it back to xf

Joe McElderry also did the same version for his Classic Album.

Agreed. I think Simon has lost the plot.

Simon seemed to be under the impression they were to reinvent themselves rather than the song - his comments throughout the night gave me that impression anyway.

Loved it, but I love Israel's version (and I think you are just showing off that you can spell his surname - or did you cut and paste )

Yes he did
The theme was about reinventing a song to suit the artist

Max turned Over the rainbow & Wonderful World in to reggae funk songs
