The vast majority of people saying it was shit totals less than a dozen, and it appears that all of these people had decided it was shit long before the episode had ended. That's like saying that Chelsea played like shit today after only 10 minutes of the game has elapsed.
At least give the whole thing a chance before deciding that you hate it.

And, as usual, it's the same posters who slag off the show, same as they do every week. Fine, these people don't like current Doctor Who. Sure, it's not to everyone's taste. But if you know you don't like the current season and have already decided that you won't like a Mark Gatiss story then why do you put yourself through the obvious pain of watching the thing? It did come to an ending. The Doctor, Clara and that woman all escaped in the Tardis. Rasmussen was getting people to watch it so he could infect us the viewers with the Sandman "virus". So the ending is that we will all turn into those sandman things.

It really was a crap episode though.

This is now a show that does not fit on BBC1 any longer, it's a niche BBC3 effort these days.

Needs a rewatch to try to make sense of it. Don't think my opinion will change though as i found it thoroughly boring. Typical of the current era.

I've enjoyed this season up till now and after the first couple of episodes involving Skaro and Davros i expected the episodes to drop a little in entertainment, was pleasantly surprised up till tonight's episode and then this hit the bad factor like a hammer to the head.

Massively disappointing episode which had a lot of promise based on the trailer but it was just awful, poor concept of "eye gunk" monsters, no connection with the characters to care if they died, obvious that there was no one recording them throughout but took till the end for the doctor to figure it out.

The guy who created Morpheus was about the most confusing part, i still have no idea what was actually going on and not sure if i want to sit through it again to find out.

No I wasnt criticissing what you were saying because you were 'the minority'. Clearly this episode hasnt proved that popular. A shame as I enjoyed it. But alot of people didnt and theyve said why....after watchihg the episode.

Whether or not your opinion is consensus or minority is besides the point. You cannot form a valid opinion about a TV show that you switched off after 5 minutes. We are talking about YOUR opinion. What part of that is difficult for you to understand?

Action, particularly prolonged scenes in the dark may work in the cinema but it doesn't on the small screen.

I think that I'll have to give this a miss for a while. I've been really happy with this series and especially with the episodes that try to innovate. I'm really uninterested in simply re-running the past - be it Tennant or Pertwee or whoever.

Doctor Who as a series has always taken on - even plagiarised - other ideas from sci-fi or horror and repackaged them for what used to be (let it be again) a teatime family audience. At its best its been unafraid to try to shift things around a little and when it has been capable of innovation it's usually been worth it. I've seen the revival in this series of the sort of desire for change that I've seen in the show from the moment that Troughton reinvented the character. It's been at its worst when it just tries to retread the formula over and over. That's why Ecclestone's doctor was so good and could revive a brand that had been left so deadened. So the strings of complaints about the opening credits, that someone is wearing glasses, that the thread is early/late/useless ... every week, this stream of cack!

I've not really been a major Gatiss fan, overall, but that episode really was good - pacey, unexpected - then I came on here to clock in on the poll and find this tirade of abuse that streams all the way through the actual broadcast of the show. "I saw 5 minutes and gave up. So now I think ..." You what?

Loving this series, loved this episode. Steering clear of this forum (and unfortunately the poll) for the rest of the run. I really do not want 3 more weeks of angry bafflement late on a Saturday night. I'll sleep better.

But the Adipose episode was a laugh, at least.
