Nono, I was saying that I've only seen about two references to the transgender character in comments on here. Anyone who commented on the character (an admittedly minor one really, so there haven't been many mentions at all) for better or for worse, managed to do so without getting caught up on the transgender aspect at all. And that's brilliant.

Unfortunately, there's always one that has to use it as reasoning to justify their opinions (the poster I was responding to) in some way. That they also confused transgender with gay was just additionally offensive, really.

I must have missed it too. If there was anything about transgender in that episode I didn't notice

I might've missed it too, but there was a point when the grunt was referred to as a "she", I think? I remember just thinking "That's a bit odd?" at the time, and gave it no more thought until seeing the posts here.

In fact, due to the expressions of love from the grunt for Chokra, I just assumed the grunt was meant to be gay, and again, gave it no more thought than that.

I didn't get the idea of Gay or Transexual from Grunt. Since Grunt was bioengineered it would have made no sense that she was transexual.

After a bit of research, it turns out Grunt was played by Bethany Black who, apparently, is transexual. I'm guessing that's what the poster was alluding to.

BIB: Exactly!

So, the real world intervenes.

I had no idea about the transgendered actress. You can probably tell from my earlier confusion, but I'm afraid I just assumed the Grunt was male (and ignored the odd gender specific references from the other characters) because the Grunt looked male. All the gender cues were male. Apologies to Bethany. Unobservant me!

I guess it's easy to miss this sort of thing when you're life doesn't involve the LGBT world.
