No, everything's filmed by the crew's helmet cameras so him talking to camera isn't breaking the fourth wall, it's part of the world of the story. Weirdly (and this may either be a production error or a twist) Clara's POV seems to be filming too - is there a camera implanted in her eyes?!?
Ok this is ****ing terrible.
I feel sorry for Capaldi because he's been given so little to work with, but bad stories notwithstanding - he's a shit Doctor. He really is.
He suffers from the same problem that Peter Davison did - great actor, but no "Doctor" quality.
Not being funny but the best thing that could happen now is if Moffat, Capaldi and Coleman all leave after this series so things can start again anew.
I know that won't happen because of who's contracted to what but I still think it should
