My mum's hudl1 has died,
So I a, looking for recommdations for its replacement. It is mainly used for playing card and quiz type games and a little bit of internet, (no YouTube, iplayer).

I was considering either a hudl2if I can get one or a £50 Amazon tablet.
(Or I could give her my iPad2 (original not air) and guest my self a shiny new iPad.

Any hints, tips or thoughts greafully received.

The 2nd generation Nexus 7 (2013) is a cheap yet very capable tablet - I'd avoid the learning curve required if moving from Android to iOS. Buy yourself a new iPad for Xmas anyway.

If you bought a cheap tablet and it died, what not get something that will last a bit longer. Your old iPad 2 might be sufficient for her needs, although it struggles with iOS 9.

If she likes what she had then a Hudl2 sounds like the obvious choice.

I'm mid-70's and used a samsung galaxy tab 3 and enjoyed every minute with it, that wishing to be more "with-it" sold it and invested my pension in a large ipad. I find this mind blowing.

Every day, I watch like a hawk for free release apps, I whizz round the world exploring where my legs will no longer take me. Streetview allows me to look at all the houses I've lived in over the years and see what changes have been made.

Being able to surf in bed, when the old arthritis kicks in and again when dawn breaks I'm there reading the papers on-line.

Video calls all over the world to family brings them close. Whatever you choose to buy, used wisely will bring hours of enjoyment.

The Amazon fire hd 7 is currently on special off at £60 |(half price) and with clubcard you can double up your cash vouchers as well. This looks a really good deal from Tesco Direct but hurry.

Not from Tesco you can't but they are easy enough to get off somewhere like eBay.

I recommend the Levono Yoga 2 tablet. Great specs, at a good price.

Ironically enough, that's the tablet my Dad, who's nearly 70 himself, recommended to me back in 2013.
