Ken Barlow .. time for a decent storyline
For so long now the story writers on Corrie have seemed to have nothing better to do with Ken Barlow than to fabricate yet another plot involving some woman or another.
Now we have the horrendous man-hungry Nessa after him, with Audrey suddenly going all gooey over him after all these years (which, if truth be told, I find a bit creepy). He's been in the series since day one and still looks pretty good (in a silver surfer kind of way) so I think it's time they gave him a decent meaty storyline for a change. What say you? |

He's a terrible actor and I don't think he could pull off a big story

Ken gets far more sls than most 80 year olds in soaps. He is the main Corrie anchor, as he has been for decades. He is the Street's go to man for advice, he's heavily involved in all his family's sls and sometimes, like now, gets one of his own. Pretty much as in real life really.

It's sad he doesn't have Mike to play off, I really think Mike could be a great character to have around now (or anytime really) particularly in the wake of Deirdre.
While I've enjoyed Audrey's scenes with Rita this week - those two should hang out more - I'm still not sold on the Ken/Audrey pairing. It all seems so forced and they just don't have any real spark. |

I like Ken and Audrey as friends, not sure I could see them as anything more. Audrey is preferable to the dreadful Nessa, though.
