Honestly? If you didn't know how to do spoiler tags then ask. I don't know I would go as far as to call some selfish (if giving the benefit of the doubt that it was a genuine mistake) but naive and a bit dopey? Yes.

People do take this very seriously and go a bit mental if they find out before the show so next time just head for the spoiler thread (the one that has SPOILER in big letters) because we quite often debate the results show format there...

nearly there. its right at the bottom now. Its harder than I thought posting on a thread when one has nothing to say.

I am going to come back to some of those threads and wonder why on earth I made the comments I made.

I know - I added a caveat that I was aware my post was very dull so that people didn't think I'd consciously gone to the effort of posting a post that said utterly nothing!

I dunno - there is one perkin that manages to post an abundance of threads for not much at all...

That was fun, it's been ages since we've had a concerted group effort. Good work peeps 👏👏👏. Could do without the reason for it though 😉

I'm going to bump up a old thread too if I can. While you want to give people the benefit of the doubt , I did notice the OP was still signed in till seemingly a few minutes ago, and had time to post on this thread, ('sorry') but has not yet edited theirs . Hope it gets taken down or changed soon.

Just adding a bump for this as you never know if it will make it's way back to the first page!

Where was s/he when we needed them? Love the word perkin in that context.

From the forum rules

Disruption: Bumping
Posting in old threads with little reason to do so is considered disruptive. If a thread has long since died a natural death, a fresh thread should be made if you wish to continue discussion.

It is sliding down page two slowly but it is nearly an hour that it's been on so think the mods might be having a long Sunday lunch.

The poster was requested to edit their post within the edit 'window' but did not do so, for whatever reason.

It's also wholly unnecessary to post the name of the eliminated couple in order to ask why the results aren't shown on a Saturday.

Hhhhmmmmmm ....... accidental?

Still, hope the mods are enjoying their Sunday afternoon in the pub

There are rules on posting spoilers too.

A thread from last night or earlier today is hardly 'long since dead'.

By all means feel free to alert any posts on the forum that break the forums rules. I'm sure they'll be removed if found to contravene T&Cs.

I think the words "with little reason to do so" are the relevant ones here.

If the mods are not going to respond to an alert to remove an offending thread, then there is excellent reason to post in said threads.

But it doesn't say break another rule to counteract a rule being broken, and i may well do if i see fit.

But the mods have given the advice themselves in years past that it is acceptable to do so in order to push down an offending thread whilst we are waiting for them to deal with it. Burying a thread makes it less likely to inadvertantly spoil those who wish to remain unspoiled.

I take your point, but the threads bumped were all from earlier today, so it was easy to add a genuine post to them. Most would have been bumped at some point later when the forum gets really busy before the show tonight.

But as others have explained, it isn't breaking a rule if you have a valid reason for doing the bumping. in this case, there was.

You can only edit a post for 15 minutes. After that, the Moderators are the only ones capable of editing either a thread title or a post in a thread.
