From the forum rules

Disruption: Bumping
Posting in old threads with little reason to do so is considered disruptive. If a thread has long since died a natural death, a fresh thread should be made if you wish to continue discussion.
Not often you are seen making your denouncements around here Billy. Things a bit slow in GD today?

Pity you didn't show up earlier. We could have done with the school prefect making themselves useful for once.

But as others have explained, it isn't breaking a rule if you have a valid reason for doing the bumping. in this case, there was.
There was no valid reason for bumping, the threads should have been alerted and left at that and then to wait until the moderators do what they see to be the right action and also there is a thread warning people not to read it.

And some genius has just bumped it by 'accidentally' posting about PA's wife on it.

Unfortunately someone has posted on the problem thread - and I think they were actually replying to a different thread.

Here you are Billy. Its your moment to shine. Pop off down to the bottom of the page and start telling people off for misplaced posts and empty comments would you? There's a love. XX

Reported the thread again. The Mods should remember we can get this issue on Sundays? 😕

What the hell is wrong with people?! Don't post on a spoiler and keep bumping it up. Simple enough, surely?!

To those complaining in that thread that it's a spoiler - don't say you weren't warned... (also people posting in there makes it even more likely that others will click on it and be spoiled. Well done)

You didn't need to give the result just because you wondered why they can't or don't show it live. That's incredibly selfish.
Totally agree. The creator of that thread should hang his/her head in shame

I wasn't warned as, at the time, this thread was below that of the spoiler thread (so guess which one I clicked on first). Now I've seen this one .....

Sorry couldn't work out how to put spoiler in title.

Was just trying to wonder why they can't show it all live
You put spoiler in the title by using the word SPOILER.

Sorry but it sounds as if you did this to upset people to me.

Of course it's the right action, mods have even advised us to do it before. As long as we don't post bump in each thread and stay on topic, what rules are we breaking?

This is exactly the reason this thread needs to be bumped until the other one has been removed. Like a lot of other people, I reported the offending thread ages ago. Don't know why it's still there.

I run a forum, and occasionally we get a nuisance poster who starts a lot of pointless threads and bumps threads from ages ago by adding meaningless comments like 'well said!' The rule quoted by Billy Value is obviously there to warn that people can be banned for this kind of behaviour.

Most forums also have an unofficial rule against 'junior hosting' - ie non-mods laying down the law to other posters. It confuses things and spreads disinformation.

If the mods have previously advised bumping other *current* threads to keep a problem thread off the front page then it seems that's a good reason for doing it.

Please show me where the mods have said it, also i have seen bumps which have added nothing to the thread only for the intention of bumping the thread.

You could have 'wondered why' a few days later after everyone knew the result. Are you naive or just stupid?

Interesting. That is a matter of opinion I think. I haven't found a single one where the post was just 'bump'. In all cases some sort of comment was made even if it was empty, pointless or wrong. Now who is to say they aren't the genuine comments from the poster. If we removed all empty, pointless or wrong posts the forum would be half empty.

Eh? Apologise to who for what? This thread isn't about your interpretation of the rules, that's a complete tangent.

Assume you have alerted the mods to all the posts you think are breaking a rule, so let them decide.

Don't think the poster spends much time on this board, most posts are off topic, beside the point and uninformative. It's the Strictly board, we're not trying to tackle world peace
