ED: The Woolpack

With Chaz thinking that someone is stalking her and breaking into the woolpack. Would there not be cctv in the pub and some sort of alarm as well .

So when she is sleepwalking would she not have set off the alarms, and have been seen on the cctv .

Yes in this day and age. Why has no one mentioned checking it. Unless whilst sleep walking Chas has disconnected it.

Of course it "should" have. With all that stock and the takings on the premises it would have an alarm.
I think they've slipped up badly here for the sake of the storyline.

The fact that no alarm's went off any time there's been one of these intrusions should make people think - well it would in real life. One of the first things to occur to anyone if there's no burglar alarm triggered would be that it could be someone sleepwalking.

I think it was Cain (or James) mentioned to her the other night that the alarm had not gone off so they do have one. He asked how many people have keys to the pub and it turned out most of the village does, hence they concluded the stalker has to be someone she knows well.

Is she actually sleepwalking though or is she pretending to get Emma into bother? Even Emma's own family think it's all her doing.

She certainly looked very detached, like she wasn' t quite ' there' as she did it. I hope sleepwalking' s all it is

IMO Chas is sleepwalking due to stress and it's not her just trying to put blame on Emma. I can't understand why the sound of smashing glass wouldn't wake her up though. Unless she's in such a deep sleep she doesn't hear it.

Just how many times has the Woolpack been trashed? Who pays for the trashed stock, glasses etc ... It must be uninsurable!

It is poor story writing that one of the Dingle family would not stay at the pub overnight to catch the 'intruder'.

Yes I would have thought Cain would have done. Surely a pub in this day and age would have CCTV? I can't remember if Diane was around the first time there was glasses smashed and the taps running. Wouldn't Diane have woken up as smashing glass is quite noisy?

She was staying with Vic the night it was smashed up and the night the taps were left running.

Still not %100 convinced she is sleeping walking. Could be something more serious.

This is my theory following Emma locking Chas in the cellar with the gas leak.

That's what I thought. Some may argue she is really sleepwalking because she looked detached in the scenes, but she could have been acting that way on purpose in case any one walked in on her or she was caught on CCTV.

Chas went downstairs the other week when the pub was smashed up (when Diane accused chas of doing it) and heard smashing coming from the bar. How could she have done it if she heard it happening in another room?

She's definitely sleep walking

Thanks. It is a strange to do while sleepwalking. I don't know much about sleepwalking but would something like this happen as often as it is for Chas, as in the smashing stuff etc? Would you turn the gas taps so they would leak like that too? It's all destructive. Would sleepwalking cause all that destruction?

That's a good point and sadly one I can't answer.

I don' t think Chas is sneaky enough to set anyone up. She would wallop her and dunk her in the horse trough, or doing something else to her face.

I don' t think anyone's even thought that they better get the alarms checked outSurely if something happened in your premises and it didn' t trigger alarms, you might think the alarm was faulty?. Of course the intruder might know the code, but yoy' d get the alarm checked and change the code, as well as changing the locks. And evidence or not, you' d report it, at the very least for the insurance claim
