I don't normally dip in here - i value my sanity - but after the first 6 eps (3x2 parters FFS!) I find myself asking "when did it stop being fun"?

God, I hanker for Russell T and the others who injected a less "up our own ar$e" note into the prog - it doesn't help that Capaldi sucks (IMO, before you all start shooting - I'm allowed an opinion!)

Wasn't sure whether you meant the forum or the programme when I saw your thread title!

Well, I'm still enjoying it, personally. This series, I mean. So my own answer would be...it hasn't!

"We've been having fun!"
"Oh, good. There's nothing quite like it, is there?"

(Sanders and the Doctor, 'Kinda') Always loved how Peter D delivered that line.

For me quite a while ago I liked Series 5 and Series sixish Moffat and all of RTD even if it was a bad episode , now the adventures are just all some political message and meant to be dark and it just dosen't have that healthy mix like it used to I still love it now and its not completely boring its just not as Gaga as it used to be. IMHO Im mot gonna come out with that it still is bull.

Also now this series two parters are being added left, right and center just because the fans said so theres a difference from when its needed and when its just there just for the sake of it. To me it seems like this showrunner has been pumped dry but dosen't wanna admit it

One story this season with a clear political message and suddenly its turned into 'FAR TOO MUCH POLITICS IN DOCTOR WHO'.
Unbelievable Jeff.

I hate to burst your bubble but I really don't think fan's and their wishes have any impact on the show. The two parters are there because Moffat wanted to add them as he felt that the traditional 45 minute format was too restrictive, and well he kinda gets to make those sorts of decisions, him being the show runner and all that...

No but you clearly stated that Moffat had used 2 part stories to appease the fans did you not?

It's lost something! Or maybe I've lost something. I'm not sure when it was that it happened.

After season 6? After Amy left? After Capaldi came? Oi find myself missing the RTD era even Pre HD. I think the show has lost a lot of its charm. It's all very different to that era and that's okay. It's what the shows always been about.

That said, I still look forward to each episode, it's still prime viewing for us on a Saturday evening and maybe the years will make me nostalgic for the current era more if you know what I mean

I did read your post, thanks.

Perhaps you could do with re-reading your own post, seeing as you seem to be a little confused about what you actually wrote.

It's pantomime season!

(I admit, btw, that I'm contractually obliged to say that I still think the show is entertaining and fun due to my employers, and the fact that I am a 'Whovian' who thinks it's all been wonderful without exception since 1963. Every single story.)

Your first sentence sort of sums up how I feel about it. I'm no longer watching though the OH is. I just went off it and don't know if that's anything to do with Capaldi or something else. Anyhow, no longer watching and not missing it (and I've watched since Patrick Troughton days).

Guessed what it was before clicking.

Yes, I did. I tell you I did! Look, I don't want to argue about that!

Is there really any point anymore? I mean the crushing futility of it all! When you have people typing things and then denying they typed them five minutes later we might as well just shut up shop and go home.
