They have both done themselves no favours - cowardly decisions

It's obvious neither act had appealed to the public this week.

Nick done the decent thing and didn't favour one over the other, and Rita, well it turns out she got it right.

It was the correct way to build the tension cop out would have been making it 3-0

It makes me angry when a LGBT judge does what he has just done to another LGBT person.

LGBT people are discriminated against enough without getting that from one of their own. Where are your balls Grimmers, you could have at least abstained. Your fellow judges (the allegedly straight two) voted 2 to 1 to keep Seann.

its television and the deadlock as said is dramatic. so bring it on every week becasue then the bottom 2 go and the voting public have the final say.

If it was based on the sing-off, Seann should have stayed. According to Dan Wootton, everyone says Seann is cocky backstage. Lauren seemed particularly upset at the thought of Mason leaving.

I do think he felt his act would take him to the final .

Forgetting that everything just sounded like a showtune

Are you saying he should have voted him to stay just because he is LGBT?

Seriously. Aren't lgbt folk fighting for equality not to be treated differently? You're expecting nick to pick Sean or abstain because Sean is gay. That's just silly. I loved Sean but that argument dies nobody any favours imo..

Oh do pipe down. I'm gay and I can't stand Sean, and am delighted he is gone. I don't support someone just because they also happen to suck the D.

I get the feeling Nick ultimately didn't want his vote to send his own act home and be seen to be favouring one over the other but judging by his reaction I think he had resigned himself to losing Mason but sent it to the public so it wasnt in his hands to do so, I don't think he even considered for a moment that sending it to deadlock would do anything than confirm Mason's exit. He was shellshocked that his action sent Seann home.

It reminded me of the US show when Nicole inadvertently sent Rachel home by opting for 'deadlock' but never thought that Rachel would actually be the one to go.

Ultimately Nick should have stepped up to protect the stronger singer but I understand why he didnt.

That demonstrated that there is no point in a sing off or a results show for that matter. Just leave it to the public vote and announce it on the website.

No I am saying he should have abstained. I am a straight female btw, but I loved Seann, Mason is as dull as dishwater. Seann brings far more to the show.

Grimmers made a cowardly decision. I don't know who he was trying to please. Maybe he made a costly mistake.

Unfortunately there is going to be a proportion of the population who would not vote for Seann as he is so OTT - he doesn't need that from his mentor too.

He was the 2nd lowest in the voting. They wouldn't have been able to do this if more people voted for him.

It's a shame he's out so early because he was definitely one of the better ones, but his appearance in the bottom 2 this early just confirmed that he was never going to win it.

Right decision was made.. Seann wasn't the even that bad last night- 3/4 others were worse than him! Yet he got the second fewest votes. Shows that the public didn't really warm to him and if he'd survived tonight by Rita choosing to save him, he would have been out by week 4 anyways. Although, you have a fair point about judging it on the sing off. But at least Simon did.

Oh goody, another do-gooder getting offended on behalf of those that for the majority don't care. Stuff like this really irritates me, I know your heart is probably in the right place but just because someone is gay doesn't mean they like or get along with all other gay people. As a straight female does it anger you when Cheryl, a fellow straight female, votes to send home a heterosexual?
