I didn't use to think so but its quite obvious now

But Yes Seann will be fine, XFactor is what it is

I'm still in shock.

Just caught up on X Factor as was out Saturday night so slept yesterday.

What a disaster.

In all the years I've watched X Factor this is by far the worse result.

He was one of my faves.

Sean could have bounced back from being in the bottom 2 - whilst Mason will probably be in the bottom 2 every week now until he leaves.”

Based on the performances last night, I thought Mason was going home, but was pleasantly surprised when it went to deadlock, and SMM was the one with the least votes. Each to their own, but I'm glad he's gone. He did have a good voice, and I thought Saturday was his best performance, but he was too relent on flirty gestures and silly outfits. Others stand out in the competition because they are great singers, but HE stood out because he was a guy who wore ridiculous outfits and flirted with the cameras.

This, for us, was the final nail in the coffin of X_Factor. The bovine cretinous voters, indulged by the utter ***** on the judging panel, lost the one contestant with charisma.

X-Factor has been doing downhill for years, and this series may well be the last now that ITV have poached The Voice. Bye bye Simon.

Amazing vocalist, but all his performances blended into one.

I'm not massively surprised he went. It was Reinvention week, but he pretty much just gave the same performance he always gives. Plus, nobody thought he was in danger so hardly anyone bothered voting for him. He was very forgettable on Saturday.

He was much better vocally this week than he was last. Having said that I think he was hurt by a combination of people assuming he was safe and possibly California Dreaming not being that well known a song here compared to something like Life On Mars, especially amongst the younger demographic.

Plus Grace Jones called and wanted her act back.

Probably the worst result on X Factor ever.

What on earth were the GBP thinking?

All of Rita's girls were poor. Enough of the caterwauling already!

Anton was just a flat joke and Max is like watching paint dry.

I get why 4th Impact and Reggie n Bollie would appeal as they're a bit of a novelty but am shocked that viewers would vote for Simon & Rita's acts based on Saturday's show.

I guess people just assumed Seann would be safe and didn't vote

I can't remember the last time I was so gutted at someone being voted out too early.

I literally cannot believe Sean went last night. Though the minute it went to deadlock, I knew that because Sean won't have a strong enough base in the UK would obviously mean he'd be out.

To think the joke act is still in there. It happens on hte XF all the time, why on earth am I surprised by this....

I'd love to know whos song Sean was covering last night. Does anyone know?

If you mean California Dreaming, it was the Mamas and the Papas. If you mean A Song for You, it was Donny Hathaway.

Agree with the BIB ten times over. I had my eyes closed waiting for the vote as I couldn't bear the tensión....

Just a truly awful decision. I just hope that someone important has already decided to sign Sean up already....

Thanks!

No, I knew the song he sang on Saturday, it's one of my favourites, though I hadn't heard before the song he sang on Sunday. Which I love, but I don't know if it's just because he sang it, or the original is just as good. So I'm now going to find out!

I agree he stood out in part for those things he mentioned, but he also stood out for being the only one in the competition with any true showmanship, charisma, charm, stage presence, personality, professionalism, with a fantastic voice and someone who imho is a born entertainer!

I'd like to know who else can match him in those areas....

For me, noone else can, even though I think Louisa has a great voice, and Anton has a great voice, they'll be dropped after the show finishes, just like 95% of them.

I genuinely think that the XF truly screwed up on losing Sean, and the show is going to be so much more boring without him

I really hope that Seann has received enough exposure from the show to launch his career, hopefully people were indignant enough to give him an extra boost. I never thought he would win the show but I was gutted that he left so early. One of the best voices in the competition and really knew how to put on a show, X Factor's loss.

Totally agree with this. Sean was miles better in every way than Mason and showed this in the sing off. I genuinely don't think Sean was bottom two because he wasn't liked by the public, but people thought they needed to save others more and that he would be safe. He was in my top 3 for sure. It should be up to the judges to make up for things like this, by saving the one who is clearly better. Indeed, what was Rita, in particular, thinking? It seems that perhaps she was told to do it, but why would the producers want to save Mason over Sean, when he was clearly more entertaining. Struggling to understand this decision, I must say.

Do the producers really expect us to believe that the judges decide who goes home - surely to make it more realistic they could have made Simon send Sean home..Whilst Rita sent Mason home”

Yup you see this type of vote so often its like they don't even try hide it now. I've seen so many where the first two send 1 guy home, 3rd judge makes the most useless excuse ever to send other one home, final judge deadlocks it and the best act goes out. Mel B last year saved Stevie in a very similar scenario despite saying she hated all his performances up to that point.

The original is by Leon Russell but the best known and most stunning version is by Donny Hathaway and is one of the most sublime vocal performances ever

Completely agree with this. I vote for my favourites to keep them in, the person I like most getting the most votes. I felt sorry for Anton but I was never going to waste one of my votes on him.

Tbh, I'm not surprised he was in the bottom as I think he is marmite. His performance wasn't as good as last week, and this was 95% the reason why he was in the bottom, imo,

I didn't know it was a Leon Russell song. I bow to your superior knowledge. It's a great song and I do agree with your assessment of Donny Hathaway's version.

I only found that out a few years ago tbh. I just always presumed it was a Donny original but his is definitely the definitive version

I'm only watching the show casually / out of curiosity more than anything else, but I would be really surprised if losing Sean (just watched his first audition for the first time) this early was part of anyone's plan (I'm surprised that he didn't get enough votes); he's got more presence than all of the other contestants put together.
