EE - What are we enjoying about it at the mo?
EE has had a bit of a bashing recently, and rightfully so this week. But instead I thought a thread about what we're actually enjoying at the moment could be a nice change.
![]() So - no matter how small - what bits are you liking about EE at the mo? I'll start... The interaction in the market - it's got a community feel back to it again, what with so many main characters now being out on the stalls. I'm enjoying seeing that again, something which reminds me greatly of 80's EE. |

Great thread.
![]() Tamwar and Nancy! The resurgence of the Masood family. I still like Shabnam and Kush, as a couple, despite the recent reveal. I like that the Carters have had some normality recently. I like Lee's depression storyline. The introduction of Carmel and Auntie Fatima.

I enjoy watching Mick and Linda and the rivalry between Aunt Babe and Elaine. I also like Dot (whenever she appears), Shabnam and Kush Stacey and Martin and Denise.
Lees depression is really good too whenever it's on screen. |

1. The fact that Alfie's currently not in it, just savouring this last month or so of blissful respite
2. Masood's still alright 3. Tamwar and Nancy work well 4. Linda & Mick - an actual realistic couple who stick together through thick and thin and don't go round having pointless affairs 5. Whitney is being given a more prominent role in the show, which she has deserved for a very long time but for some reason not been given until now 6. Claudette is fantastic to me - tells it like it is, strong woman with a tough side 7. Vincent is interesting - I actually want to find out more about him 8. I enjoy it also when they explore Donna's character more 9. Patrick is getting better, let's hope they don't give him another 'old man gets an ailment' storyline as he's already been hit with a stick, fallen off a chair and broken both legs and had a stroke. 10. Roxy is standing up to her sister finally, and her relationship with Dean is interesting 11. Dean is soon to get his comeuppance |

The still birth story was really well done and brilliantly acted by Rahkee. Sad it was ruined by the Kush twist, but up until that point I thought it was fantastic.
I've also really enjoyed the Christine/Les/Pam story. Lin Blakeley has been incredible imo. Beyond that I've quite liked the Kim story with Vincent. But I've always had a soft spot for Kim anyway! |

Lee's depression....and Whitney.
Mick and Linda, they're a joy after all the dysfunctional couples. Stacey, even though she's made a bad decision. Claudette, when we get a chance to see her. Ronnie's scheming. Denise being back in the Minute Mart. |

Rahkee played that fantastically.Pam and Les was another one acted brilliantly, those episodes were so very sad, which I was pleasantly surprised about because it was actually handled really sensitively and not humorously at all which I worried about. |

I am intrigued by the fabulous Claudette, I am considering have DTC pair her off with Keyser just to see if he could cope
![]() Loved the Les/Christine/Pam stuff, I love Roger's interpretation of the situation and he has been much maligned on here. I love the partnership of Tamwar and Nancy they are both hilarious and bring some well needed warmth to the show. The Ronnie stuff is interesting and her up and coming connection with Honeysparks some interest in me. I adore Harry Reid and his role as Ben Mitchell has completely stolen the Kathy return stuff, although Letitia deserves credit after the big reveal "Who's the daddy part 9.999.999" I do like the new Martin and it's good to have a Fowler back on the market. I adore Donna, her humour, wit, yet personal anxiety and struggles with disability and others perceptions of it have really engaged me and I think Lisa is a gem of an actress that I hope to see a great deal more of, and from that point of view it's a pity Fatboyis going because I think it could have been interesting ![]() ![]()

Nanwar, especially in the Friday 6th episode. There was some really subtle and beautiful writing for them.
Les/Pam/Christine since the truth finally came out. Ben Mick Some of the Shabnam stuff. Just her, not Kush/Stacey/Martin/Carmel/Masood. Donna Some of Lee's storyline has been very touching. Some has been a bit rubbish though. Babe. Elaine's (speaking) voice. The character is awful, everything she says or does is very annoying, but the actress's voice is a joy to listen to. Everything else is drivel imo. |

Controversial choice; but I am actually enjoying the Stacey/Kush/Shabam/Martin plot that is bubbling away, the fallout will be massive. I know it seems to be really disliked by the majority on this forum as it seems to have ruined the character of Kush but he's not one I'm familiar with tbh, I think this plot is easier to get your head around if you're a casual viewer like myself which is a pity for long term fans who seem to be forgotten in this new age of EE.

I'm loving Carmel at the moment, but I've always been a big fan of Bonnie Langford since Dr Who.
Have actually laughed out loud at some of the comedy bits this week too! |

The interactions on the market
The Masoods being a force again (Kush/Shabs and Tanwar/Nancy plus Fatima) Lee's depression storyline The Cokers and how the Les/Pam/Christine storyline has been handled very well. Babe back in the Vic I'm a small minority who has enjoyed the Kathy return - nice to have an iconic character back Sharon finally getting centre stage Carmel who is a nice cheery character Whitney now being used to full potential Harry Reid as Ben - he's proved his worth, especially the Kathy return storyline. |

Nancy and Tamwar are my favourite couple now that they have ruined Kush.
Babe has been really interesting, especially against Elaine. I'm liking Mick and Shirley's current relationship. I'm glad Kathy is back, even if her storyline was a bit naff. Ben has had some great moments. Les/Pam/Christine has been brilliant. I'm glad the Carters have been toned down a bit. If you look further back, I enjoyed Kat in the convent, Stan's death was nicely handled, and the few weeks leading up to Live week were brilliant. I was drawn back as a viewer after years of hardly watching. Also, Shabnam's stillbirth storyline was heartbreaking, so I don't know why they had to add a trashy affair into the mix. |

I've enjoyed the Sharon/Gavin and Margaret stuff. Not sure about the Den retconning but the way Sharon and Gavin paced each other on Halloween and he revealed the Ello Princess line and her moment of realization was a great moment.
Love Marge turning from professional empathetic, friendly solicitor into sneery old horrible aunty. Ronnie and the poisoned toffee apples was a nice touch even if the rest of her storyline is pants. I didn't mind the daft comedy scenes we had Tuesday although the conceit of Mick going behind Linda's back is distasteful. Liking the random Cora scenes. I don't care for any romantic comedy with Mas but Carmel is fun. |

The Cokers/Christine. They've really proven their worth so far with this plot. Hope it develops well.
Carmel. The Zainab mystery (not a storyline, but potential). Claudette's presence. Mick has been great recently. Lee's depression. |
