Recently got an LG G4 after my trusty N5 suffered from a virtually non-working phone mic and broken charging port. I also have a MK7 Golf with Discover Pro Nav which supports Android Auto. With the LG G4 I have noticed that Spotify will not work. I can see that it is controlling the app from the headunit, able to access playlists etc but I cannot hear anything. Turning the volume knob doesn't seem to adjust the music volume (and you can see it has no effect on screen too)

Google Nav works, but this is apparent as a voice command volume which does take effect.

Tried with the Nexus 5 and an Nexus 6p and it works fine on them so seems to be something to do with the phone. Anyone seen this before? Is there a fix?

Other than that the G4 seems pretty good. Signal strength is amongst the highest I've ever seen on any phone (works in places my N5 did not) and audio quality in calls is great.

Seems to be a Spotify problem (which only seems to affect this phone!)
Google Music works OK and then changing into Spotify it'll carry on working.

Would prefer a proper fix but as a workaround it's not too bad.

Not sure if it will sort your issue too but when I changed from my Samsung galaxy note 4 to the lg g4 I moved contracts to Vodafone soon afterwards which gave me free access to Spotify premium, I'd previously been using Google music without issue but noticed when using Spotify the audio was very flat and lifeless whatever the quality of the streaming was set to, I then noticed there was no equaliser settings like when I had the app on the Note 4.
After googleing the issue I found the audio quality problem with Spotify and the lg g4 was a common problem in various forms.
Various forums all mentioned a solution, a 3rd party equaliser app, and without rooting the device the opinions seem to be that AudioFX app was the best.
II use this now and it's solved my audio issues and given me a greater control over my sounds settings in general too.
Sadly it's not available on the Google app store any more but I've a link to it here:

Don't think it's related. The Android Auto seems temperamental with this phone, sometimes the radio won't come back after a Google Navigation instruction until the next one.

Also what do you find the colour temperature like of the screen? I find mine very warm, and not the same all over.

Find it hugely distracting so think I will send phone back.
