Face the Raven is properly, properly good, and absolutely nothing like you'd expect. @snazdoll

I'd agree. Watched it last night and it is a seriously good episode with a far from predictable ending.

Interesting. So it's not what everyone is expecting by the sound of it.
I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting anyway, but I'm looking forward to this one.

As is always the way, some people will love the episode while others will hate it. Some will think it's marvellously original, others will claim it's entirely predictable and anyone could have written it.

Situation normal, in other words.

Personally, I think it's a very strong story.

Squashed by a giant foot from the sky you mean?

As already alluded, the Raven is the harbinger of death. It is also the sign of Odin.
I expect some viking shenanigans.

Adric, I should think. And thank God for that.
Unless you count Adelaide Brooke as a companion, in which case she's the last one.

Technically if Night of the Doctor is canon, Tamsin was exterminated and Lucie blew herself up trying to stop the Daleks.

Thinking now the 'Huge shock" is the doctor dies, not Clara

I have seen nothing but positive reaction so far.

I've heard it suggested Trap Street is too obvious a pastiche of Harry Potter, which, well, I hope not.

I suspect that you're thinking along the right lines. I could see Clara committing murder in a moment of desperation to save someone she cares about. She might do it to save Rigsy or to save the Doctor... Who knows. Clara's been getting bolder; I could see her doing this, and it being the last straw for the Doctor.

If you count Adelaide, then you'd have to count Victorian Clara. And possibly Oswin...

I think so too. And just his comments to Ashildr about not being able to travel with her because when he looks in her eyes, he can't see something. Can't remember what it was. And after whatever Clara does (kill someone, without humanity), he wont be able to travel with her anymore. Can't be two doctors/immortals in the Tardis, etc....

The big elephant is the room is that Maisie Williams is on the closing trailer as a voice over, and on the second trailer. You have an immortal being determined to look after those the doctor leaves behind involved, plus aliens - which means alien technology.

Yes, I'm very curious as to what her role will be in this episode.

Also, if Clara is forced to face the raven, does that mean that she commits a heinous crime in order to earn this punishment? Like killing someone?

Of course, the whole 'let me be brave' thing could be a cop-out. The Doctor doesn't exactly look devastated when Clara's saying goodbye to him. Makes me wonder if he's the one who must face the raven (but why?) and Clara is petrified at the thought of losing him. If she really was going to her death, would the Doctor just stand in the background like we see him doing at the end of the ad?

Sorry if this has been said before, but additionally, the photos etc all show The Doctor wearing a different coat.. far more 1930's magician (?) of red velvet...

Of course not. Shes cast in the series finale so no way will they bump her off.

Maybe the raven sends people back in time which is a lame way of saying someone dies.

Anyone else think Raven-Symoné when they heard title and synopsis of this? A Disney takeover of the show is possible and could next big news lined up for the show.
