A carefully chosen clip to mislead and confound expectations, perhaps? It's not unknown (though I think it's unlikely in this case) for trailers to include bits that don't make it into the final version.

A splinter Clara?
Real Clara from earlier in her timeline?
Real Clara in a flashback?
Or possibly she
has been saved somehow?
At any rate, we just don't have enough information to judge whether or not her apparent death will be cheapened until we see the episode in question.
