Obvious They Planned For Monica To Go
Master Ozzy

It was so obvious. Everything about her performance...you could tell they were setting her up to fail and wanted her gone. Even in the results show it was like the judges were standing there waiting to hear not if, but when her name would be called to leave. Simon's face when she got through was a picture.

Agreed. I was delighted when she made it through. The voters didn't buy what Cowell was trying to sell this week.

I get the impression she isn't passive enough backstage for Cowell. The producers did a huge u-turn on Janet Devlin when she started disagreeing with song choices etc so I suspect her days are sadly numbered.

Simon is a big fan of Monica he definitely didn't want her to go :S
He's even tweeted in support of Monica he just thought maybe Rita had messed it up for her .

He wouldn't know what to do with her. I don't really like any of them and I have to admit that I wrote Monica off in the auditions/bootcamp, however week 1 showed that she does have potential and I do think she's the best one there in terms of the whole package and having an identity as an artist...you know who she is and what sort of music she'd release. She's also a real artist and writes her own stuff and had been gigging for years. I hope she gets far, however I don't think Cowell will let that happen. I don't think he'd be able to control her and make her sing bubblegum pop which is what he'd most likely try to do with her.

I don't really buy this, why go to the trouble of bringing Monica back as a wildcard when they didn't even need a wildcard if they didn't want her in the competition?

Yes she had a bad week but people are too quick on here to look for conspiracy theory's, I don't doubt that they have used dirty tactics in the past to try and avoid people like Christopher Maloney or Janet winning who were topping the vote despite mediocre performances and being poor potential winners, but it doesn't make any sense
why they want to do that to Monica at this early stage of the competition who really isn't that much of a threat to there preferred winner and would be a very credible winner for the show if she was to win anyway.

I don't believe Simon doesn't know the bottom two before he goes out on the stage with the acts.

I'm not sure if all the judges know but I'd bet Simon did... although they might all get told when Mel B was on I'm sure on Xtra factor they went on about how upset she'd been backstage about Andrea being in the bottom two when they'd literally went from the sing-off to the Xtra factor interview meaning she must have been told before it happened.

Because it's an entertainment show. When they pick these contestants it's not about talent. They are casting a tv show, not a talent show.

I think it was Max who was the one they thought would go since Max hasn't been given any good songs so far they keep giving him very boring songs to sings. Not really trying with him. Monicas definitely a favourite of the producers it was the stylist who messed up Monicas performance .

Everyone is so adamant that Simon and co know the result beforehand so why would he be so shocked if he did? Yet another ridiculous fan theory to fit in with whatever hate is aimed at the show this week. So boring.

The Judges clearly don't judge the performances, they engineer the puppets that vote to vote for who they want. How else would they criticise certain contestants but give a standing ovation for Redgie & Boli.. Who are total shite

100% this. It's like a conspiracy convention on this site, and often the theories just contradict themselves. I have no doubt that dodgy things can happen on the show but the posts on here sometimes verge on the insane.

Nothing wrong with people have their theories, end of the day most of it is probably true........Personally I do not think Monica was set up, I think they did it to show another side to her both in terms of the song and the fashion etc.

IMO if anyone was being set up it was Anton, awful song choice amongst other things.

They don't want the wildcard to do well because that would prove they should have put her through as one of the main ones. It would then reflect poorly on their own judgement. To be honest, I don't really like Monica - this whole thing was about her overcoming adversity; the drama of coming back against the odds. Actually having to listen to her singing is a whole other thing entirely.

I don't think they set her up tbh. I just think the production team are so out of date that they genuinely have no idea what to do with anyone they can't fit into a little box and so they just though 'female singer, big voice = power ballad in a sparkly dress'

I don't know why anyone even vaguely current or credible goes on XF. All they do is rip the heart, soul and originality out of them until they're another bland MOR act

It's HIS show. Like hell he doesn't know the voting every step of the way.
