Just out of interest

Just out of interest, is there anybody here that isn't convinced that the whole show is staged? I've read everything from Simon's controlling it all - deciding who goes through, who votes etc, the judges are marionettes, the producers are Satan themselves... Wouldnt be surprised if people here thought all the contestants are actors and just putting up a show according to what the producers tell them to etc.... just lol

TPTB will control as much as they can. Katie Waisel survived about four sing off's and so did Hope if I remember right (2007). TrayC sang better but Simon kept Katie because she was 'more interesting'. So much for a sing off

The most blatant was voting bottom of the vote Cher Lloyd into the final over Mary Byrne. The only time the judges have voted in a semi final, and I think it was decided at the last minute

i don think the WHOLE show is staged , there are elements that the producers just cant control , but i think there is more than enough evidence to suggest that it is very heavily micro-managed with the intent to manipulate things in a certain direction

When will people realise that this is a TV show, an entertainment show

Treyc was BORING
Katie was NOT
Katie made headlines all over the place and is probably still remembered today
Treyc barely anyone would remember

It's not rocket science as to why Katie was kept in
If Treyc had stayed in then she would have stayed for another couple of weeks at most, done another couple of average 7/10 Whitney impersonations and then gone home

She wouldn't have had the same impact as up/down Katie

Loving the descriptions in the OP

To be honest I sometimes don't think it's quite as manipulated as a lot of people on here make it out to be, though maybe it is, who knows? Either way, I think it's more fun to just go along with it and speculate exactly in detail how each thing relates to each other thing. When you're not really loving the show itself might as well get some level of enjoyment out of it by being a conspiracy theorist about it

Im just curios if those that always complains that the show is stage are actually voting?

perhaps just the voting is real

The voting is fully audited and closely monitored so that is not fixed. But virtually everything else is, from the songs shown, the VT shown of each contestant etc etc.

Haha I still remember TreyC from her Judges Houses skit from Harry Hill

Cheryl : Whenever you're Ready

TreyC : I'm Ready

Cheryl You said that with some determination!

TreyC : I'm Ready

Cheryl : Whenever you're ready

and this was repeated over and Over, still hilarious now

TreyC was still the better singer and Katie Waissell was a joke

agree, the voting is done by a third party company

I suspect as well that Cowell either knows or has a very good idea who is winning each week and can manipulate it if he doesn't like it. Just a hunch though.

Why did Katie and Cher get through to the lives when Gamu was there. Ludicrous.

I don't think the whole show is staged. They couldn't get away with rigging the voting and yesterday Sean went because he got less votes than Mason. I agree that they try and influence viewers somewhat e.g. Mason's VT showed him going to a photo shoot and the make up artist saying he was a really nice person. Ultimately this didn't work because he was still in the bottom 3.

I can see why Simon would want certain acts to stay in longer, such as Fleur, to gain more popularity and recognition in order for them to have a musical career. Maybe some artists aren't very malleable and some are required to stay for entertainment purposes. I don't see why though the producers would want to control it to the extent where they decide who goes each week.

Didn't gamu not grt through because of some asylum reason? Or was that the year previous?

No. This forum is full of wild conspiracy theories. None have any evidence or make logical sense (noone has ever explained clearly why the producers, who make several tv shows a year and don't have any music labels, would particularly care who wins). Some people just can't accept that their favourites aren't that popular so make insane excuses.

The producers may not have massive investment in who wins, but what they do want to do is get viewers by creating storylines. I'm pretty sure every single reality show in existence does this. The easiest way to do that is probably to work with Syco and big up the acts that Syco have an interest in by editing them a 'journey' over the course of the show. In order to this though, someone else's star has to shine duller so someone else gets screwed over, which I think is part of what grates on a lot of people here.

It amazes me how much people care tbh. Do I subscribe to the whole "TPTB are ruling everything" scenario? No.

Yeah, I'm sure there is some manipulation but I don't let it bother me. I enjoy the show for what it is and don't get my knickers in a twist over conspiracy theories.
