Okay, so this could be a bit of a swing & a miss starting a thread on 'River City' (unless you're in Scotland)? But here goes ...

Finally, after both the bride and groom expressed serious doubts (with good reason! ) about their nuptials & even their entire relationship, they both finally agreed to tie the knot. Kelly-Marie even agreeing to Alex adopting her son Callum. There's nothing quite like an unplanned(?) pregnancy out-of-wedlock to bring two people together, I'd say!

So despite the groom's sometime threatening and violent behaviour to his betrothed, their respective and secret illicit affairs on-the-side and the fact that their respective families detest each other ... They eventually seemed content in kilts & all!

You've got a recipe for a combustible marriage, but then again what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger! It won't surely be all roses in the garden 'cos it's still Shieldinch afterall!

'River City,' the one show on TV that makes EastEnders look cheerful!

[P.S. I'm still sore at the show over what happened to Zinnie! ]

There is already a River City thread, but someone only posts on it occasionally, then it vanishes for months.
As for Kelly and Alex going the distance, will be very surprised if Alex doesn't get killed off, as there is going to big trouble, I think, between Lenny and Alex's family, and my guess is that Alex will get caught in the crossfire.
River City is always worth watching, I think, but they do have some rubbish actors, the latest being that annoying big woman who's taken over the Lindsay's house, she's terrible, surely they can find better actors in Scotland than the likes of her?
Have to say, though , that Kelly Marie was one of the loveliest soap brides I've seen in a a long time.

There's the one night stand fling hanging over Alex's head though. I actually liked the wedding episide, how a lot of issues got resolved, how Alex and Kelly Marie sort of started with a clean slate. But there's the fling who clearly caught some feels for Alex, who might for now keep quiet because she liked Kelly Marie more.

Yeah I can't find the thread and the search engine on here doesn't seem to work.

I can't see Kelly Marie and Alex lasting somehow. Just too much trouble on either side - Lenny on one side and Evil Granny Island on the other (Martina). It's all likely to kick off. Theres Alex's one night stand and I can't remember what the outcome was of Kelly's baby father - is it Gabriel's? Who knows.

Agree with the other poster on Caitlin. Horrible character!

Alex is the father - which I'm actually quite glad about as frankly I think Gabriel had long since reached the end of the road in terms of being an interesting character who could be further developed.

Really don't like Caitlin; Jenny shows promise, but how old are Ruby and Drew meant to be? They look like teenagers but behave like six year olds. I wonder where they're going to get the money to pay Alan's mortgage every month...?

But to get back to the OP - Alex's volte face before the wedding was a bit far-fetched, even if it was nice to see the old, decent Alex back. I can't see them lasting, tbh, but I hope to see more of Martina while they do.
