I get tired of posters claiming that they 'hate' this celebrity or that dancer. I hate monsters like Adolf Hitler or Saddam Hussein. I certainly don't hate television personalities whom I have never met and have never done me any harm.”
Couldn't have put it better myself, David.
It's the same every year; tiresome regurgitations of the 'smug', 'false', 'too quiet', 'too loud' etc accusations by keyboard warriors who hide behind their anonymity. It's the curse of the internet (and more so Twitter); people who, if they came face to face with the object of their vitriol wouldn't dare spout any of it to them.
And it's also, to a degree, pack mentality. If you get two or three of the same mindset, they automatically believe they are right to behave in this way and have every right to do so.
It"s a very sad reflection of today"s society, where decency and manners seem to have been replaced by the 'me, me me' mentality, spurred on by the redtops and others and their tacky excuse for 'journalism'.
It's a wider problem than these boards. They are just the tip of a bigger iceberg.
