Tabloid campaigns

This is possibly the worst year for tabloid campaigns against contestants. There has been several upsetting stories, for certain couples, and those stories have been virtually without foundation. One has to be suspicious of why certain celebs have been targeted while others have been left alone.

Georgia was targeted at first but then dropped when they decided to target Jay with some crazy lies which have to have been upsetting for both Aliona and him.

Now today the headlines are about rows behind the scenes stating that Georgia was slating Jamelias dance ability (to Anita) and that Peter was talking about (fueling rumors) about Jay. Strange we have no stories about Helen, Anita, Kellie, Jeremy….and they have been generally kind to Peter which is surprising seeing as he 'frequently courts' the tabloids.
It would be nice to have a few weeks where the headline just focussed on the dancing and performances and not printing lies

The only thing I find surprising about the stories in daily rags - sorry, tabloids - is that some people are gullible to actually believe them!

The only new thing about the tabloid twaddle this year is people using it as a springboard to accuse their celeb's rivals of briefing the press against them without any foundation.

I agree but it is a case of 'when mud is thrown some of it sticks'. I enjoy SCD to see celebs doing something outside heir normal sphere, see great dancing and performances. I don't like the 'daily rags' stories having an impact on performances nd the great entertainment value that SCD provides

Jamelia responded on her twitter account to those particular rumours: http://twitter.com/Jamelia/status/663366047928606721

Is it lack of interest in Cowell's programme so they have switched to making up stuff about Strictly?
