Plenty of gay men sleep with women. They may not 'want' to, but do it for a variety of reasons- wanting to appear straight due to fear of negative reaction being the main one. There are lots of reasons a gay man would have sex with a woman even if he's not attracted to women in general. Just because they're capable of completing the act doesn't make them any less gay.

Are you sure 'plenty of gay men sleep with women'? If a guy's truly gay then the thought of heterosexual intercourse would turn him off to such an extent that they probably couldn't do it. Exactly the same as the thought of gay sex doesn't appeal to straight men.

It can be psychological. A gay man who may not want to be gay and will think sleeping with women will halt suspicion and allow himself to think sleeping with women will change him.

In Lawrence's case, it could be done to many things. He may not feel sexually attracted to Bernice and wants to marry her for companionship. Or he may be nervous about having sex with another women since his wife. Or the abuse and treatment he suffered during his imprisonment just left his scarred on what's right and what isn't when it comes to sex with anyone.

Well, Lawrence, while you're deciding what to do, pass her over to me.
