Are Rita and Simon bothered about their acts?

Having watched the past 2 weeks of live shows, for some reason I get the feeling that Rita and Simon are not at all bothered for their acts. Rita seems to be always travelling here there and everywhere so don't think she spends too much time with her acts. Thought it was very telling this week with Monica that Rita is obviously not at all involved, how could she have let Monica perform so unhappy with the song and styling? We heard this week as well Simon saying he hasn't even been around for rehearsals. To me Cheryl seems to be the only judge who properly cares for her acts and is really involved in their song choices and performance. You could see at the weekend the passion she had for her groups and I have seen the videos of her dancing with Reggie and Bollie in rehearsals. Nick doesn't seem too bad and I think he does care for his boys, but not sure he is making a lot of the decisions.

The judges are payed millions and for me a couple of them have to do more for their acts.

Rita is a fame-whore

Rita is only there for the money and fame it gives her. Other than that she does not really care so yes I agree she needs to put more effort in.

They're about as interested in their acts as anybody is in the show.

Cheryl seems pretty hands on this year - she even attends choreography lessons!

Simon will vote to send home his own act in any sing off with louisa

Rita's dignity and credibility disappeared the moment she signed up for this show

Surely she must have known X Factor is basically on its last legs and that The Voice is still pretty much fresh and more serious than Cowell's product

Rita may have the nailed on winner in her category, but given her track record on The Voice when she lost all of her acts before the final...Will history repeat itself on this show, doubt it but will be a lot of fun to see how she manages if by some chance she does lose Louisa before the final

Rita is clearly on auto-pilot, but she has unintentionally provided some of the funniest moments of the series.

In fairness I don't think Cheryl got a whole lot else going on really

I think grimmy is the best it seems all his acts are really consistent and it really does seem they all really like each other the way they talk about their group messaging ect.

A close friend of mine was on x factor a good number of a years ago and she made it to the live shows (i'm not going to say who) but she told me personally that Cheryl was there for her more than her own mentor ... I thnk that speaks volumes!

It was priceless when she forgot Monica's name. Oh how I wish Nick hadn't told her cos Simon wasn't about to bail her out!

I totally agree with you, I was disgusted with Simon when he said he had not seen them all week and Rita is so full of herself. Cheryl is the only mentor I am impressed with this year, she is really hands on, talking to her acts, making sure they are happy with everything and she has also been great with all her critiques of all the acts in the first two live shows and given them all constructive remarks and praise. She has been great this year and seems to really care about all the contestants not just her own acts. The best judge by far this year!

I was literally thinking the same thing about Rita, she is so clearly on that show too boost her profile. Cheryl and Grimmy are really into their acts and you can tell they care about them, 4th impact and reggie and bollie seem to really get on with her. But I checked over all Ritas social media accounts and not once does she post pictures with her acts, or ask people at home to vote she seems all too interested in posting photos of herself. I honestly used to be a huge Rita fan when she first started out, but I have totally lost interest in her she is so fame hungry and desperate

I think Rita is. She does seem to put work into her acts.

Simon doesn't. He didn't want them in the first place. He slated Max the put him through because other people persuaded him to. He's not really interested in the people. Only the money.

Nobody is interested in "their" acts. They are there to film a tv show to make themselves more fame and money.

Simon certainly hasn't been from the start, and he's made no attempt to hide that.

The contestants don't need to be mollycoddled they aren't kids needing looking after 24/7.

Simon has never been bothered about his acts.

In series two, he voted off The Conway Sisters and told Sharon to vote off 4Tune in favour of Chenai.

I've got Rita on snapchat and I was thinking the same thing. Like today she put that she was off to Berlin. I've also noticed she's never on the Thursday Xtra Factor it's like she is never with her acts. If she wanted to be a mentor for the show she should have committed to the job and actually meteored her acts as much as possible!

I think we all know by now that Rita will do anything to become as famous as she believe she can be, I don't believe its about the music for her as much, its definitely for the attention and fame

I agree with this to an extent. The vocal coaches/choreographers do most of the work with the contestants anyway so as long as they are around the contestants should have the help they need.

I have Rita on snapchat and have just seen she is off to Berlin. Says it all really. She probably won't see her acts until Saturday! Wouldn't surprise me. I understand it's big money and publicity but I don't understand why she signed up to the show with so many other commitments
