There are certain events in life that they say live with you forever and you will always remember exactly where you were, the killing of JFK, death of Elvis, Diana,Lennon and MJ, tearing down the Berlin wall and the Twin Towers and now Fleur's legendary performance on X Factor, it was life changing and will go down in folklore.

Good effort but a bit understated for a Fleur fan.

Poor Cheryl. She is very good at miming though as she has plenty of practice.

Her return was like an angel descending from the Heavens to teach us all about the true meaning of music- just in time for Christmas. There was something very spiritual about her performance and I think we all felt it.

some of the dance moves she was doing really were spectacular to watch

the fact i was fast forwarding through it at 16x normal speed might have had something to do with that tho

Fleur is an amazing performer! But does anyone else find her voice especially on high notes really husky and raspy. I think she'll be an incredible singer if she could use her husk and rasp to her advantage and add some resonance to it. Other than that, she's an amazing performer!

Fleur said she won't be performing in America until March! Focusing in breaking Europe first. She said she her US label is working on a promotional plan with Syco ATM. Can't disclose who the label is as of yet but she is very happy with it, simon helped her get the deal there. There will be no collaborations on this album but the American release will have one, which she is very excited about.

Most definitely!

I feel a bit sorry for Ben now......he has nothing on Fleur in the performance stakes, plus he's got a second rate song as well, so unless he comes up with another song, I think that Fleur is definitely going to overtake him very easily now.

Can't believe how quickly she's transitioned from xf wannabee to bona fide performer!

I love love love the song and I really enjoyed the performance.

I think " poor mans uptown funk " is a lazy critique, as that track is basically a megamix of early 80s funk/soul tracks.

That said thereis a lot of hyperbole in this thread. Changing UK music forever is going waaaaay too far.

Did anyone really say that this could change UK music forever? If so they'd better watch out for men in white coats.

Those are just people attempting to be funny, bless their hearts.

But yes I agree, a great song and one hell of a performance.

my mind went off at a tangent there as we have been joking about bupsi's tina turner tribute act and when you said you see a young tina turner in fleur it made me think of the father ted episode when they did the three ages of elvis

we could have the three ages of tina turner

young tina - fleur
middle aged tina - tina herself
old tina - bupsi

she has a very average singing voice and hasn't yet written any songs. I'm struggling to see in what sense she's talented.

And don't say she can dance, cos that makes her no different to those dancing behind her, and anyway who gives a **** about that?

and one other thing, it looks like she might have a top3 single on the back of XF performance and accompanying hype. Who the hell hasn't had a top 3 single in that scenario?
this will be her career peak, it's a downhill slope from here

You've already used that line in the other thread.

As a whole performance, it was excellent. Yes, Fleur isn't the best singer but neither are Cheryl and Geri Halliwell and they did pretty well as solo artists.

Sax owes everything to Uptown Funk! but it's still a decent pop song imo. What will be more telling is whether Fleur has any more big hits in the next 12 months.

You can't deny how sassy Fleur is, and she definitely has masses of stage presence. Her afro-esque hairstyle allows her to stand out on stage.

Play these, and then Uptown Funk! and you can hear where the inspiration came from (yes, I'm aware the MJ song was only released 6 months before UF! but still...)
