He's okay. He's not as bad as some people make it seems.

This. I like Pete and I acknowledge that some people do not. But the psycho vitriol of a certain few I do not get and never will (not just for Pete but for any contestant). Sad really and they show themselves up.

OK there are far better reasons in the faraway land called "Showbiz" but I'm going to attempt to explain this one with an SCD answer.

I think most SCD contestants behave like good people. They want a good experience and a fair competition. They learn to dance to the best of their ability and if they're good enough, they stay in a bit longer. I think most contestants want the winner to be someone who deserves the title.

I think Peter Andre really, really wants to win but feels that if it's judged on dancing ability he won't. So he's gone down a "not good" route with a PR campaign that's crossed the line on an occasion or two.

There's another thread about the tabloid press negativity this year and I sadly feel that it fits Peter Andre and Claire Powell's MO.

I really wish that you would refrain from speaking for everyone in your posts, because he most certainly does NOT make the show for most people, quite the reverse in fact.

Terry, you're known for this! Stop speaking for the masses. I've just removed you from my ignore list this season, dammit!

PA is a marmite contestant, some love him, some hate him. I love SCD, so whoever is in it, I wish them luck. If a dance is good, fabulous. Let's not get into realms of evil and stuff, please. It's a light entertainment show. There are some awful things going on in the world, so let's keep perspective, please?

From the way P'duh stuck his hand up without even looking at her, he expected her to be looking at him and to be ready and waiting to slap his hand, validating him. Jeanette had that thousand yard stare looking like she'd rather be anywhere else. Maybe she's getting tired of him. Aside from the passive agressive swipes at Jay and Helen he comes across as needy and time consuming not to mention nasty when he doesn't get his own way (there's hours upon hours of "reality" shows to watch as proof.)

Real Strictly fans (well me anyway) don't give a toss what the so called tabloid says. They have their own agenda and it isn't mine. I judge what I see. And I think Pete has been great for Strictly this year. In fact I think it's a great year for all contestants IMO

Well said especialy the bit in bold.

Shall we have a sweepstake on how long it is before this thread gets locked?

Is it related to Strictly? I avoid the gossip in tabloids regardless of who its about, good or bad and take it all with a pinch of salt. I also make a concerted effort not to judge people,we all do good and bad in our lives but most of us don't have it splashed all over the press. I don't think I am better or superior to anyone and I definitely don't think Peter warrants being called evil, foolish in some ways maybe that's all.

That's not fact, it is what you want to think and what you want others to think.

There is an irony in you claiming that PA is not a good person...because in my book making unfair and unfounded accusations about a person without any proof whatsoever doesn't exactly show you in a very good light either imo.

Ironically, you are now doing exactly what you are accusing PA of doing.

This is a perfect example of the delusion, speculation, and downright rubbish that is constantly bandied around with regard to Peter Andre's every move.

Terry didn't say anything wrong. He didn't mention the word evil at all. In fact I agree that 'for me' Peter does make the show this year. Nothing wrong in saying that if it's his and my opinion .

Not at all. It's like saying the only good people in the world are Mother Teresa and Bob Geldof. The problem may be that you have a broad definition of "good" and a narrow one of "evil".

A corporate raider who buys a company, pockets the pension fund and puts the employees out of work hasn't killed anyone but it's an evil thing to do.

And I'm very sorry to the mods because I'm now completely off topic.

You were off-topic from the beginning.

Referring to a relatively inoffensive reality TV contestant as evil has no place here.

Move on...

My 'evil' reference was not aimed at Terry, that's why I commenced a new paragraph. I was referring to the base thread on this, so apologies if you interpreted it differently.

However, by saying 'most people' as Terry did, spoke on behalf of the forum masses, which Terry is not in a position to do.

Again, apologies if I implied Terry referred to evil, he did not.

I probably don't like Peter as much as i did pre show (when i'd only ever experienced him in snippets) but overall i find him pretty harmless.

He seems to me quite insecure and he wants people to like him. His attempts at this make him appear insincere and hammy at times but i certainly don't know how anyone could think him evil lol

Probably best just to post in the appreciation sub-forum.

Many here are incapable of ignoring the thread if they don't like the content.

Absolutely no worries, Twinkle toes
To be very honest, these forums are somewhat difficult nowadays...like navigating through barbed wire, so to remain on friendly terms after a slight misunderstanding is a bonus xx
