God yes , billy connoly's wifey . I quite liked her in her series and I recall a spectacular routine where she missed a hand grab and nearly hit the deck . Good recovery though . But I never read her columns or writings anywhere , so the doc thing went right over my head .
I apologise to everyone for being a bit short in my response then

Although she was on Graham Norton during her time on Strictly and made a very good point which I think is highly valid - although probably lost in the mire of "other stuff" she came out with in the tabloid press later on.

Point she made was - that professional dancers can happily spend all day grinding their crotch into the crotch of a (relatively) complete stranger and have no other feelings - as it is their day job.
Whereas a Celebrity might get all sorts of hangups and feelings they dont want, being hands on and crotch-grindy with a highly attractive member of the opposite sex, who is also their teacher.

Although I too am just sick of all this "romance" rubbish being spouted all the time.

My Granny was like that - as old Hollywood movie/ showbiz newspaper gossip was always about "romances" between co-stars.
If she saw a couple of actors appearing more than twice with each other on TV, she was convinced they were married off screen

I agree with you - in essence what she said made perfect sense, especially for contestants without an acting background who weren't used to getting 'up close and personal' with someone they weren't otherwise intimately involved with.

It was her 'panting' about it that was really off-putting, though. That was the year that Ola danced with Paul Daniels, and I remember thinking that if he talked about Ola the way Pamela talked about James there'd have been outrage.

That said, I quite liked her as dancer - it was the lusting and over-sincerity I wasn't so keen on.

ITT played that clip to death, didn't they?! Think I've seen it about fifty times in total.

Funny that the producers never thought to mention her being married to BC, though. I swear we just saw a passing shot of him in the audience that one time

bib What do you think he's called? I also think it's Jovanni. The I after the G in Italian signifies you have to read a DJ instead of G and the I is not pronounced.
Sorry that is how I understood your comment, but I may be wrong of course.

100% not! Strongly suspect Giovanni bats for the other side!!

Must have been quite a shock when later found that a few of them were actually homosexuals!

She pronounces it a little too hard - more Jo than Zho - which is closer to the softer italian phrasing. But that's just accents

I very much doubt it - though, if Georgia had been single when they were paired perhaps the potential could have been there. Looking at Sean, Giovanni could have fitted "her type". There is a bit of a resemblance between the two guys.
