Three and tethering?

I am thinking about moving to Three as have a unlocked phone and see they do a pay as you go sim only where you can buy a £20 add on.

how do they stop people from tethering as see it says that its not allowed on pay as you go plans?

if i bought a sim and did it would i get found out?

Not sure if three would actually know about it, if tethering can actually be done on a three PAYG sim.

They actively prevent tethering on PAYG, if you somehow get around the tethering block they also have tethering detection on the network which will kick in and block your connection PDQ. If tethering is important to you, you should be looking elsewhere.

How much data per month do you need to use via tethering?

Three have a SIM Only plan on a 1 month contract for £20/month which has AYCE handset data and a 4GB tethering allowance plus 200 minutes. If you need no more than 4GB for tethering then that plan is a good option.
