From what Tyrone was saying last night, the Christmas Day episode will see the Street transformed in to a veritable Winter Wonderland for little 'Urp'.

Lapland Lives in Weatherfield. I think I will have to give this a miss. If I want to tread through lots of syrup, I'd rather fill the bath with Tate and Lyle and do it that way.

Just imagine Christmas Day filled with............

Whiney Fiz, gormless Tyrone and Sinead, Chesney, Kirky, Beth and dopey Hope trying to look animated. The only saving grace would be little 'Rubeh' getting excited. She'll act them all off the screen.

Think I would rather wrestle with a frozen turkey than watch this faux Disney carp. What a wonderful Christmas Corrie wise this is going to be.

At least we are being spared the "family dinner get together round the pub bar before someone gets the hump and upends the table a la EastEnders! Although, thinking about it.....

Whose idea was it to base the Christmas episode around Fiz and Tyrone?

God almighty, as if Corrie On Camping wasn't bad enough, we now have to endure this.

What a cheery Christmas this is going to be

The BBC. It's guaranteeing Eastenders will top the ratings

For some reason I just have this feeling that Luke, Tyrone, Jason and Gary (or a combination of them) will be dressed up as elves for the occasion and there will be fake snow, somehow (followed by loads of "real" snow, no doubt; it seems to always be a white Christmas in Weatherfield).

Another character will be Santa. Maybe Norris?

It'll be cheesy but I don't mind it when Corrie does it. That said, the Hope cancer storyline is leaving me quite cold and it's not as though I haven't been moved by Alan Halsall or Jennie McAlpine before (admittedly more the former, particularly in the Kirsty abuse plot). For some reason their acting hasn't been very convincing on this one. Feel a little bit bad about it.

I doubt it'll have the same punch as the Roy and Hayley snow people for Hayley's last Christmas.

You knew this was going to happen, as soon as Tyrone couldn't afford the Lapland trip.

Another point, Rita will sing at the end,

Another point, Rita will sing at the end,
Child character wants snow - check

Adult character fakes snow for child - check

REAL snow falls in second half of episode - check

Full brass band mysteriously appears on Street as people come in/out of packed pub - check

Snow completely settled by end of episode - check

Rita sings over scenes - check

Corrie at Christmas everyone! To be fair, I love it and wouldn't want it any other way. I don't care how much of a SOR it is, it's festive and it's nice.

Got a feeling this will be the last Christmas in Cirrie like this for a while.

If Kate Oakes, Carey's on with the Birthday Week theme like she did with Emmerdale.

Next Christmas, could be them recovering from what has happened

I love all those suggestions! ^^^

But if Ty's going to do a Winter Wonderland, he'd better do it properly.

He'll need a choir. It'll probably be some Dickensian style singers complete with lamps on sticks and mulled wine. What about Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus? Then there's the shepherds, the wise men and the angels. They're bound to turn up. But there's one bloke you've all forgotten. It's the star of the whole show -------- Father Christmas - complete with sleigh, Rudolph, all the other reindeers and lots of pressies. And there will be a ginormous Christmas tree with all the trimmings.

Is that enough? Hmmm...... Best get an artificial frozen lake with ice skaters, a few snowmen, perhaps even a flying snowman, maybe a few penguins ............

I'm surprised Blackburn doesn't give us a shock Tyrone/Fiz Xmas Day wedding as well so 'Urp gets the chance to be bridesmaid before she cops it

Hope with be fixed just in time for Christmas Day. The whole of the street will be joyous and Fiz will have a tear in her eye and say 'awww' a lot!

BTW where areTy and Fiz holding this festive extravaganza? Is in the back-yard or by some miracle will it be in the street having first obtained permission to close the whole of the street for the event.

I am sure the Platts will play a role in this year's Christmas Special. After all they are always involved in some drama which involves either being kicked out or sleeping with someone and Kylie getting drunk.

Can someone please help me understand what is so special about Lapland? I googled it and from what i read its just part of Finland, why would a little girl want to go there? Wouldn't Disney World be more appropriate?

I think it has a Santa Village resort place but I'm not sure.

Thats it?!! surely there is a Santa's village type thing somewhere in England they could go to. Also why don't they contact the Make a Wish Foundation, they always take sick kids on trips to Disney World and other places like that.

I agree. It was just a stupid plot device for this Fizz and Tyrone themed "cutsey cutsey" Christmas episode. They only reason I'll be watch CS on that day is for the potential return of Callum.

I would welcome a nice cheery festive episode for Christmas Day! The soaps seem to love depressing us with murders, fights, corny weddings and births most years.
No-one has done a proper non-eventful, but happy Christmas episode since Crossroads in the 70's!!

I'd be more entertained by Emily and Rita deciding to turn the gym into a new adults only club called Lapland. The males of Weatherfield would be ecstatic, Kylie could become a dancer again and Leanne could ply her trade.

There have been some horrendous attempts at Santa type villages over the years in the UK. Santa's little helpers have known to be totally blotto, the presents handed out to the kids have been cheap unwrapped tat. People sludge through six inches of mud, no snow in sight This seems to happen every year in the UK, I think I remember Llewellyn Bowen being involved in one debacle.

LMAO!!! I'd be down for that. you'd need to get Eva and Michelle working there too.

Dag that's pretty bad, but still taking kids all the way to Finland to see Santa is a bit extreme, Fiz and Tyrone need to do like my parents did and told us that the real Santa came to our local mall and call it a day.
