It appears as if ITV have bought the rights for The Voice

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-ra...n-itv-in-doubt

Whats the likelyhood of ITV running with The Voice and The XFactor on the same channel?

With XFactors raiting dip, will next year (the final year of the contract) be the last. Or will ITV be so desperate to keep Britains Got Talent, that it will pick up The X Factor as well.

Pop Bitch ran a story last week saying X Factor will be dropped by ITV but picked up by Sky One

There's basically a couple of options - and no, XF going to Sky isn't one of them! Either ITV run The Voice and XF concurrently - similar to DOI and XF schedules of years past. TV fills that gap in the Spring schedule where they desperately need something on Saturday nights between XF and BGT's schedules.

Or, they follow what The Voice in the US has been doing, and that's 2 series every year - one in the Spring and one in the Autumn, and XF gets 'rested' for a while. I'm not sure the British audiences would be used to seeing something put on in this way, but it could definitely be sold to them as 'perfectly usual in the US' etc.

Either way, The Voice is initially for filling that gap in the early part of the year, not for replacing XF - although that's an option open to them. I've often wondered if they would dare change BGT's schedules and run it in the autumn against Strictly - that certainly would be a far fiercer ratings battle than XF is currently putting up! The race for Xmas no 1 is no longer a major goal for XF, and they'd do well to take themselves out of that, and out of the Strictly v XF war entirely, by moving to another time of the year.

I've never been impressed with The Voice, the format irritates me, as you never get to know the contestants

Also, this nonsense about it just being about the voice, when coaches completely reject someone as they dont want them on their team.

The way the BBC only have 3? live shows means the actual contest is squashed into a small number of episodes and before you know, its over. No one ever knows the winner and the certainly never buy the single.

On ITV, I can see it taking on Dancing on Ice Slot, as its the usual slot for The voice anyway. But with loads of adverts, will the Voice audience just get sick of it?

Have the British public had enough of signing contests for now?

Do ITV just want a barganing chip to hit Simon Cowell with? It gives them options, but they cant afford to loose BGT as well as Xfactor.

So many questions!!!!!!
